For high-detail container printing, stencil consistency makes all the difference ➡ Chromaline Pro/Cap Capillary Film delivers the controlled stencil thickness needed for sharp, repeatable container printing. Get crisp fine lines, small type, halftones and detailed graphics on bottles, tubes, glass and plastic, with a smooth stencil surface that helps maintain clean edges and consistent ink deposit.

Pro/Cap also provides an optimally low Rz, because the stencil dries flat against the PET rather than conforming to the texture of the mesh. It’s available in 15, 18, 20 and 25 micron thicknesses to help match stencil build to the application.

See Pro/Cap Capillary Film at the PRINTING United Expo and talk with the Chromaline team about how to improve detail and repeatability in your container printing.

Yes, we degrease every single screen, every single time 💦

And here’s why it matters 👉🏼 After coating your screens, always dry them horizontal and squeegee side up. As the emulsion dries, gravity helps it flow evenly to the print side of the screen, ensuring your stencil has a smooth, consistent surface.

When screen printing, the print side is the critical side of your screen. It’s where the ink transfers to your shirt. By drying horizontally and squeegee side up, you’re avoiding uneven emulsion buildup.

How are you drying your screens? Here are six pro Mick Tips to keep your stencils strong and your exposures consistent:

👉 Keep it dark – Emulsion is light sensitive, so screens should always dry in total darkness. A drying cabinet is ideal, but if you don’t have one, do your best to block out stray light in your shop.

👉 Watch the temperature – The sweet spot is 110°F (43°C) or cooler. Anything hotter risks damaging the emulsion. Heat may seem like a shortcut, but it can ruin your stencil.

👉 Control humidity – Aim for 50% or less. The higher the humidity, the longer your screens will take to dry. A dehumidifier in your shop can make a big difference.

👉 Dry squeegee side up – This helps the emulsion settle smoothly on the print side of your screen, giving you sharper detail and more consistent stencils.

👉 Why it matters – The drier your screen, the better your exposure will be. No sticky positives, no screens sticking to the exposure unit. Just crisp, accurate results every time.

✅ Bottom line: A nice, dry screen sets you up for success. Take the extra time to control light, heat, and humidity, and you’ll see the payoff on press.
