MyDunkirk.com MyDunkirk.com - Helping businesses in the 14048 area code connect with their customers. I’m Nathan, but the majority of people call me Nate.

I was born in Jamestown, New York, and when I was just five years old, my family relocated to Frewsburg. I joined the Air Force in 1987 after receiving my diploma from Frewsburg High School and began training to become a 207-1, or Morse Intercept Operator. My tenure in the Air Force came to an end after a few years spent stationed at Misawa AB in Japan, and I returned to Jamestown. I worked in a v

ariety of advertising, publishing, and web development positions throughout the ensuing 17 years. After returning to western New York I eventually discovered my true home in Dunkirk. I have two wonderful children, a son in the United States Air Force and also a stepson, a Dunkirk native and junior at Dunkirk High School. I’m married to a beautiful and remarkable woman who works as the controller for an electrical contractor. Today, I do network administration and consulting. However, my true passion lies in helping support small local businesses. You’ll find me playing guitar in my free time, though I’m no rock star by any stretch of the imagination! Or riding my motorcycle a few times a year when I feel brave. My dog, Rusty Dawg, is a Chihuahua and Jack Russell terrier mix and is an excellent watchdog; ask him—he doubles as the MyDunkirk.com chief of security!

Hey folks, just a simple request for your help. I'm adding listings to MyDunkirk.com and would appreciate your input for local Dunkirk businesses not already added to my listings. It may be your business, the business where you work, your favorite business, contractor, restaurant etc. As long as they're local and offer a product or service!! Simply add it below in a comment, (preferably with a link to their info) I'll sort out the rest. Thank you!!

While walking Rusty Dawg this damp and dreary morning along East 6th, with the misty rain hitting our faces, I decided to do some research on little-known facts about dogs. Why? Well, because I needed something to write about, and while Rusty already knows all this, his lack of communication made me look it up. It was humiliating and a bit irritating because I thought I knew most everything, it’s amazing how much we think we know about our dogs, though here are a few tidbits of info that might just surprise you....

I now know why Rusty c***s his head to one side and looks at me like I’m a fool sometimes. I just didn’t know he was sometimes right.

Let's go Marauders! I hope to see you all from crowded stands! :)

As I prepared Rusty Dawg, my trusty canine companion, for our usual morning walk, I couldn't help but indulge in one of my favorite pastimes: listening to music. On this particular morning, the soulful tunes of Keb' Mo were filling the air, setting the stage for a contemplative journey into the realm of music. I found myself wondering why blues music held such a special place in my heart compared to the countless other musical genres out there....

Hey there Dunkirk Marauder fans, it's time to talk about the recent clash between our Dunkirk Marauders and the Southwestern Trojans. Ok, it wasn’t so much “a clash” as… well, the final score? A somewhat disheartening 52-0 in favor of the Trojans. But before you start feeling too down, let's dive into a couple of details. First off, it's important to note that the Marauders entered this game as the underdogs....

As I strolled along with Rusty Dawg, my trusty time-warping canine companion, I say "time-warping" because it takes him 45 minutes to take me on a 15-minute walk, but I digress. I couldn't help but ponder the peculiar phenomenon of teenage boys and their seemingly insatiable appetites. It's as if their stomachs have become bottomless pits having an inescapable gravitational force akin to cosmic black holes, except they’re only absorbing food at an alarming rate....

I seriously believe I can add a quarter inch to my waist merely by walking through the kitchen, yet these guys can eat every 20 minutes and pack on muscle and tone.

I'm just an average “old guy” who's had a front-row seat to the ebb and flow of decades. It's astonishing how history has this uncanny knack for echoing itself, don't you think? So, today, let's dive into the similarities between the “Millennial” generation and the "Greatest” generation that endured some of the most turbulent times in history. And, perhaps more importantly, let's ponder why it's high time we cut millennials some slack, just as we eventually did for their great-grandparents....

The Greatest Generation, like Millennials today, were once labeled as a bunch of spoiled, lazy, "layabouts" an…

As a pet owner, I've had my fair share of moments that left me shaking my head and questioning my sanity. But nothing could have prepared me for the unforgettable night when Rusty Dawg, our adventurous four-legged family member, had a close encounter with a skunk. It was a comedy of errors, a lesson in pet parenting, and a skunky story I'll never forget....

Rusty, my furry accomplice in chaos, took off like a rocket, bolting after something in the distance. I watched in awe as he disappeared into the night, a blur of fur and excitement. Just 20 seconds..

As I stood on the bleachers, watching the Dunkirk Marauders High School Football Team take the field for their first game of the season against Lakeshore, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. Having followed this team for the past few years, I knew this season was going to be special, and I was eager to see how they'd perform....
