Byrum & Fisk was excited to be part of the team behind a ceremonial groundbreaking on Tuesday for Chobani’s $567 million expansion at the La Colombe Coffee Roasters facility in Muskegon County with Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Chobani CEO Hamdi Ulukaya.

Chobani’s investment will add nearly 340 new jobs and boost Michigan’s agriculture sector as the increased production of ready-to-drink lattes will increase demand for local milk. More Michigan-grown food on more plates in school cafeterias in Genesee County. We’re excited to see coverage by ABC12 News of the new initiative called the Good Food for Michigan Project, a partnership between Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development - MDARD, Center for Good Food Purchasing and MSU Center for Regional Food Systems.

Bendle Public Schools in Genesee County is among the first recipients of grants awarded by this program to get more locally grown to its learning community.

A grant from the Good Food for Michigan Project will help Bendle schools serve more fresh and locally produced food to students.
