GOOD GRIEF! Big Wheel Press has some exciting news. We are premiering a line of Peanuts® letterpress greeting cards this year. Each card features either a full daily comic strip or a Sunday comic. 24 cards are available now on our website, or through Faire.com. And we will be at NYNOW February 1-3 at booth #1173 in the Noted Pavillion! Beautifully done in letterpress on heavy USA made cover stock with cool retro kraft envelopes.

For Walt Whitman’s 200th birthday in 2019 Big Wheel Press pumped out so many cards and notebooks. You could find them all over the country including the where a big celebration show was on display.

We are rebooting one of our favorite cards this series...a quote from Leaves of Grass. And featuring the image used in the first edition which was a steel engraving by Samuel Hollyer, based on a daguerreotype by Gabriel Harrison. This image shows Whitman in working-class attire, with a tilted hat and a “pensive insolence” in his pose, a stark contrast to the formal portraits of other authors at the time.

Ready to jump into letterpress? We have a great Chandler & Price 10x12 treadle powered letterpress for sale. On a pallet and ready to roll. This press is in ready to print state, good rollers, and well maintained. Too often you see these on eBay that are in horrible shape and in someone’s basement. If you come and pick it up we will throw in a half day lesson. Yours for $950. The only reason we are selling is that we need the room for other equipment.

It is a three day weekend, the boys had their day of soccer and are now playing video games. My beautiful bride, , is at the festival. So I am up to no good making prototype cards and postage stamps. Oh yeah, and the government is still shut down.
