Getting the opportunity to make these signs for Cisco ISD really hit home for us because there is a story behind them that goes all the way back to the beginning of Bryan’s Signs.
The man who painted many of these signs before us was the one and only Delbert Schaefer and if it wasn’t for Delbert, there’s a good chance I wouldn’t be sitting here today carrying on the business my dad built.
Years ago, Delbert taught my dad, Bryan Jackson, how to paint signs, right there on his living room floor. My dad took what Delbert taught him, worked hard, took a chance, and eventually built Bryan’s Signs.
Now, years later, Dad has passed that torch on to me.
So standing back and looking at these signs for Cisco ISD, knowing who painted them before us and knowing the history between Delbert and my dad… it makes this one pretty special.
To Delbert Schaefer, THANK YOU. Thank you for taking the time all those years ago to teach a young Bryan Jackson a trade. Thank you for the incredible work you have left all over Cisco and this area. What you taught one person helped build a business that has supported a family and continues today. That’s a legacy.
To my dad, Bryan Jackson, thank you for taking that knowledge and turning it into something our family could be proud of. Thank you for building Bryan’s Signs and giving me the opportunity to carry it forward. I hope we continue to make you proud.
And to Cisco ISD, thank you for trusting us and giving us the opportunity to continue a little piece of Cisco history. We hope you enjoy for many years to come!
