Cliff brings his background of next level experience into the mix. He was art director for Electric Factory Concerts for over five years. He worked with the biggest bands of the 1990’s and 2000’s, producing advertising design for over 300 concerts a year. He’s worked with everyone from Prince to David Bowie to Billy Joel and more. He learned from Larry Magid and Allen Spivak, who basically invented touring on the East Coast. He has also worked at Philadelphia Weekly, one of the biggest Alternative Newsweeklies at the time. He started his business in 2010.

Jo brings a sharp sense of creativity and style into the mix. She is passionate about design and all things black and pink. She also has a varied skill set - from design to welding to botany. Jo is the design lead. Her strong work ethic, determined focus, and sweet personality make her ideal to work with.

There is a new crew at Cliff Ross. Just like when a band changes its line up, the genre stays the same, but the creative energy changes. In this case, everyone brings expanded skill sets to the table, resulting in a stellar finished product. And the entire team is obsessed with music.

Fatima is classically trained in fine art. She connected with Cliff to work on a design/fine art project and shortly after that Cliff hired her. Fatima is the print lead. She handles all the printing and finishing. She is super smart, hardworking, and loves working with her hands. Her vivacious personality and quick sense of humor make her a joy to work with!

We print your logo or branding directly onto the pads, glue bind them into stacks, hand-paint the edges, then break them apart and trim them down into individual pieces. Every pad ends up completely unique!!

Most restaurants post an unreadable jpeg of their menu on social. This is ineffective. How can they care that little about the menu they worked so hard on? On the dishes they took the time to perfect? We did proper social menu graphics for along with a design for a printed menu. These paper scraps were leftover from a print job with a bleed. We cut the print job in large stacks, with an industrial cutter. The paper scraps have the same colors and pattern. We end up with hundreds of them. These scraps lend themselves to creating a cool background or texture. The repeating pattern of each one, contrasted with the chaotic placement creates interest and tension. After arranging them and glueing them, we used our drum scanner to create a digital version. This is a similar approach to cut paper, in a non-objective way. After some photoshop styling with an existing photo of a skull, we created this.

Why? We’re pushing the boundaries of design by incorporating fine art elements. The paper scraps is a very Dada approach. We’re also influenced by everything from Renaissance art to hand lettering to Pop Art. While the world is about to be flooded with regurgitated AI slop, we are going against the grain. Real art matters. Stay tuned for more.

Billy’s Downtown Diner serves up a darn good hamburger!

Double classic burger, melted Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced red onions and pickles. Served on a brioche bun with their signature sauce upon request. Comes with fries.
