This was the 10th year that the PGC group volunteered for the Salvation Army Angel Tree toy campaign.
Thank you to all the ladies that join me again sorting toys and toy shopping to fulfill the children's wishes. Thank you to all the Salvation Army staff during this time putting long days of hard work in the warehouse and providing dinner tonight to all the volunteers that helped out. Merry Christmas!

Get those weekly mailings to the post office by 6:00 pm tonight, and they always deliver on time. These guys are fantastic, maybe not the music selection of my choice.

As a member of the Northside Chamber of Commerce located in Pittsburgh, we held our coffee and contacts event at the Light of Life Rescue Mission this morning. The generous staff at the mission hosted breakfast and introduced us to the new fundraising programs, and proudly showed us the new facility. When I first walked into the building, I was greeted by this cross. So beautifully created, but when I read the description tag on the cross, I realized it was created with all the names used to call God. We are all called to serve each other, and the folks from Light of Life’s Rescue Mission serve our Pittsburgh brothers and sisters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you’re looking to have some fun, a Concert of Hope event is on July 23rd, food, music, dancing. August 14th, the Yinzer 4.1 2 K run. They have many fund-raising events and volunteer opportunities.

Community College of Beaver County Foundation hosted its Annual Golf outing on Friday at Blackhawk Golf Course in Beaver County. PGC owner Susan Weinzierl provided bottled water for the hot day and an auction raffle basket. Susan golfed with Leah Laffey, CEO of Encompass Health, a Silver Sponsor of the event. I attended the first in-person Beaver County Chamber of Commerce Speed Networking event at Beaver Valley Mall in the food court this morning. It was wonderful to visit and chat with all the members. Thank you to Express Employment Professionals Pittsburgh West Team for hosting the breakfast and providing delicious food from Cafe Kolache. As a 17 year member, I recommend joining the Chamber, and today seeing everyone made me appreciated our friendships and business relationship more than ever.

Louise was the first employee of founder and my late husband Michael J Weinzierl in 1985 (pictured at her retirement party with Mike) on July 21, 2010. She was instrumental in the growth of PGC throughout her 25-year career. She was well respected by her work colleagues and adored by her many customers. Michael would say Louise was his right-hand woman, and we all knew it. I believe Michael will put his right hand out when he sees and welcomes her in heaven. She will leave us with many fond memories.

The statewide trout season is open, but most of the best fishing is by Tressa McCune and me during our lunch break or before work in Big Sewickley Creek on our property behind our printing and mailing facility. 3.2 million trout will be introduced to lakes and streams one bucket at a time or through troughs that slide them into the water throughout Pennsylvania. The brooks, browns, rainbows, and golden rainbows are found locally in Allegheny County, North Park Lake, The three Deer Lakes, Pine Creek, the dam breast to the lower crossing of Butler Plank Road, Montour Run, Trout Run to Hassam Road bridge. Turtle Creek, Saunders Station Road to Brush Creek.
If you are wondering if we kept the fish that we caught today? The answer is no. We want others to experience the joy that we do when we fish together.

On this occasion of Employee Appreciation Day, I am grateful for my awesome staff. We’re coming up on our 38th anniversary in May. This company would not have had longevity without them. I respect their loyalty, dedication, work ethic, and professionalism from my current team and many that graced our business throughout the years. Thank you, PGC work family!
