We promised something big was coming — and here it is.

Introducing the National Cottage Food Alliance (NCFA) NCFAlliance — a nonprofit trade association dedicated to empowering cottage food entrepreneurs across the U.S. through education, resources, community, and advocacy.

This is the movement this industry has needed — and The Cottage Foodie is proud to be part of building it from the ground up.

And yes — Cottage Foodie Con will serve as the NCFA's flagship fundraising event starting in 2027. Every ticket, every sponsor, every booth supporting this community in a real and lasting way.

We're just getting started. Stay close — you won't want to miss what's coming next.

We've been pretty quiet on here lately... and honestly? It's because something is brewing behind the scenes — and we aren’t quite ready to talk about it yet.

What I CAN tell you is this — CottageFoodieCon 2027 planning is already underway, and fellow cottage foodies... this one is going to be next level.

I'm talking:
- A possible NEW location that might just blow your mind
- Major updates to the agenda — think bigger, bolder, better
- An exciting new PURPOSE behind the event — one that gives back even more to this incredible community

This community deserves something extraordinary — and that's exactly what we're building.

We aren’t ready to spill ALL the details yet... but trust me, they are coming and you do NOT want to be the last to know when we do.

That's why I'm asking you to do two things right now — sign up for the CottageFoodieCon newsletter and connect with us at Cottage Foodie Con.

Social media is great, but posts come and go quickly if you aren’t on top of it. Announcements this big deserve to land straight in your inbox. Click the link below to sign up and get our newsletter delivered right to your inbox.

Memorial Day –

A U.S. federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May each year. It honors and remembers the men and women of the military who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Now This Veteran’s Thoughts on Memorial Day...

People often say, “Happy Memorial Day,” but is that the right sentiment for a day meant to honor our fallen military brothers and sisters? The answer is both yes and no.

Yes—because we have reason to be thankful. We live in a country where we enjoy incredible freedoms: the freedom to speak our minds, to come and go as we please, to make our own choices, and to simply live freely. These liberties are easy to take for granted, yet they came at a great cost. Memorial Day is a reminder of that price.

No—because it’s not just another holiday, it’s a time to reflect. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with backyard barbecues, picnics, parades, and celebrating the unofficial start of summer, let’s also pause to remember why we’re able to celebrate in the first place.

So today, take a moment. A moment of silence. A moment of gratitude. Let’s honor and remember the men and women who gave everything so we could live freely. That’s what Memorial Day is truly about.

Happy Mother’s Day from The Cottage Foodie and Cottage Foodie Con!!

Today we celebrate all the incredible moms and mother figures who nurture, encourage, create, and care so deeply every single day. To moms, stepmoms, grandmas, bonus moms, caregivers, and those carrying motherhood in their hearts through hope, loss, or longing — you are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated today and always!

A heartfelt thank you to the talented home bakers, jam makers, cottage food creators, and queens of the kitchen who pour love into every recipe, every gathering, and every handmade treat. Your creativity and care make our communities warmer, sweeter, and more connected.

Wishing you a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with love, laughter, sweet moments, and the appreciation you truly deserve.

Our Attendees Have Spoken!

When we created Cottage Foodie Con, our goal was never just to host another business conference. We wanted to create a space where cottage food entrepreneurs could finally feel understood, supported, inspired, and connected with others who truly “get it.”

Reading through the attendee feedback from our very first event has been incredibly emotional and encouraging.

Thank you to every attendee, speaker, sponsor, vendor, and supporter who helped make CottageFoodieCon 2026 something so special. And the best part?

We’re just getting started. CottageFoodieCon 2027 planning is officially underway today!

“It’s not about being the smartest person in the room, it’s about desire, focus and time.” Beryl Stafford

Recently I was listening to the How I Built This podcast hosted by Guy Raz. He interviewed Beryl Stafford, Founder of Bobo’s Oatmeal Bars.

In the episode it was interesting to hear that Bobo’s started exactly how we all did, in a home kitchen and has no grown to be worth an estimated $100M brand in just over 10 years!

If you’re sitting on the idea of starting a cottage food business or you’ve already started your cottage food journey … this is for you. Because starting and growing a cottage food business isn’t about having all the answers.

- You don’t need to have it all figured out.

- You don’t need to be the best baker/maker in your city.

- You don’t need a perfect brand, logo, or menu.

It’s about continuing to show up—when orders feel inconsistent, when you’re trying to balance life and baking, when you’re wondering what the “next level” even looks like.

> Desire is that little voice saying, “what if I actually did this?”—and the reason you stay connected to why you began.

> Focus is choosing to take one small step instead of staying stuck in research mode—and what helps you keep going when things feel messy or slow.

> Time is what turns your first batch into your first sale—and what compounds all those early mornings, late nights, and small wins into real momentum.

Wherever you are in your journey—thinking about starting or already in it—you don’t need to be the smartest person in the room.

You just need to keep going.
