Consumers want brands to take concrete measures addressing Russia's invasion of Ukraine, a reflection of growing public awareness of the influence companies wield over major global events and widespread concern over the conflict.

McDonald's owns 84% of its 847 Russian restaurants, while Starbucks' 130 Russian units are 100% licensed by the company and run by independent operators. Papa John's Russian restaurants are also 100% franchised and are managed by a master franchisee who "controls operations and provides all supplies and ingredients for the restaurants through a supply chain that it owns and operates."

McDonald's, Starbucks, Yum Brands are just a few legacy restaurants ceasing store operations, development and more as the Ukraine war escalates.

Dollar Shave Club is embracing its new status as the official razor of the NCAA and March Madness with an NIL deal, a relatively new opportunity that cropped up last summer as the NCAA changed its rules about how college athletes can monetize their name, image and likeness. True to its brand and quirky advertising, Dollar Shave Club has teamed with Drew Timme, who took the internet by storm with his handlebar mustache during last year's March Madness (a look he is not currently wearing, it should be noted).

Since the launches of Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods around the turn of the last decade, plant-based foods have worked to drive adoption by stressing not just their health and sustainability benefits, but how their tastes and textures resemble those of animal-based proteins.

Target on Wednesday announced that it is rolling out an option for shoppers to add a Starbucks order and make returns through its Drive Up service.

Soon select Target shoppers will be able to order a latte and return a jacket that didn't quite fit — all without getting out of their car.

Kind Snacks is making an effort to educate the public on the importance of eating whole, unprocessed snacks and food while promoting its new product, the Whole Fruit and Nut Box.

"There's a time and place for eating a Kind bar, but we believe it should never replace eating the whole, fresh foods that are essential to staying healthy," Kind CEO Russell Stokes said in a statement.
