Ontwa Township Edwardsburg Police Department K-9 Program My name is Terry Burrows. I have been a police officer for the Ontwa Township Edwardsburg Police Department for over 3 years now.

My department doesn't have any specialty programs, so I started this program on my own to become a K-9 handler.

Why a K9 Unit Matters to Our Community

Sometimes, minutes matter.

A missing person doesn’t wait. A dangerous situation doesn’t wait. And unfortunately, we don’t always have the luxury of having every resource available when we need it most.

We wish we had a K9 before the emergency happens—not after.

A K9 unit gives our officers another critical capability when seconds can mean the difference between finding someone in time and finding them too late.

Our goal is simple: to bring a trained police K9 to our community and have that resource ready when our residents need us most.

This isn’t just about a dog. It’s about protecting our community, helping our officers, and giving families hope when every second counts.

Your support can help make that possible.
