Don’t spend hundreds of dollars on ads.

There are many free or low cost marketing channels that small businesses can use to grow their business until they can invest in advertisements.

Here are a few:

📧 Email marketing: Create an email capture form on your website using a free version of an email marketing service. Email subscribers have a very high conversion rate, so creating a nurturing campaign then sending offers will result in sales and sign ups.

📍Local marketing: don’t underestimate the power of networking. Chat with other local businesses to create a partnership you can leverage to help people in need of each others services or products.

📲 SMS marketing: similar to email marketing, many companies offer free or low cost subscriptions for texting services. Just capture the phone numbers on your website and create a campaign to send offers directly to your subscribers. (be careful of TCPA guidelines!)

✍️Blogging: I don’t know about you, but when I need information I go straight to google! Creating informative content helps your website rank higher on google and gets you in front of your audience.

🤝🏻Social media: Batch creating content for social media is a great way to reach your audience. Just make sure you’re using the right one!

🎙️Podcast or youtube: Another great way to reach more people, podcasting or youtubing can help expand your reach by thousands. There are cheap and free podcast distribution sites. All you need is your phone!

Stop wasting time and money advertising on the wrong channel.

Running paid ads is an art and a science, and your goal and budget affect which platform is a better use of your effort.

How do you know which to choose?

Let’s take a quick look at Facebook vs Google!

Facebook ads:
✅ Offer a higher reach, so more people will see your ad
✅ More cost effective, it is a less expensive option
✅ Better for building general brand or product awareness
❌ Will not always drive purchases
❌ Can be difficult to know how to set up correct targeting criteria, so ROI could be impacted if not set up correctly

Google ads:
✅ Allows very detailed, specific targeting
✅ Targets people in the buying phase as they are already searching for a solution to their problem
✅ Better for high ticket products and services
❌ Can be quite expensive as you are fighting for a spot at the top
❌ If targeting is incorrect, can be a costly mistake

📲Schedule on social media in advance: Save yourself time & energy by batch-creating content and using a scheduling tool to post on social media.

💌Create and nurture an email list: There are many free email marketing softwares available for small businesses! Use a form to capture contact info and allow people to opt-in to your list so you can share special offers and news easily.

💻Implement paid ads: Organic social growth is helpful, but to boost your marketing efforts, sometimes its necessary to run paid ads. Once they’re set up they can do the work for you, driving leads and buyers to your business.

🎯Create a landing page: With an easy to navigate and intuitive lasnding page, you can automate sales. Using persuasive copy on the site will encourage people to make a purchase or book an appointment.

⭐️Automate your reviews: Create a strategy to automate asking for reviews after a purchase or service. Sending a text or email with a link for a review is a great, easy way to improve your ratings online.

🔎Implement an SEO strategy: Boost your Google rank by implementing an SEO strategy to improve organic search traffic to your website. It can be a big project, but once you have momentum it will continue to pay off later.

Creating and implementing marketing automations can take some up front work, but they pay off over time by driving website traffic, increasing brand visibility and ultimately, attracting leads to your business.

Make it a habit to ask for reviews after a sale or service. Make it even easier by implementing an automated tool that will send them a link to leave a review to make it easy. 🙌🏻
