Kheir Clinic was founded in 1986 by Colonel Young-Oak Kim, a WWII and Korean War combat veteran. He established the center following a needs assessment of the Korean community in Los Angeles to help new immigrants navigate the American healthcare system.
Over the decades, the organization has grown from a two-room facility in Koreatown into a critical safety net for the neighborhood and surrounding areas. In 2013, it became the first Community Health Center in the country to serve a Korean-majority patient base. Today, its impact extends across Southern California’s diverse populations, standing as the only Federally Qualified Health Center in the nation that offers a full suite of services in five languages: English, Bengali, Korean, Spanish, and Thai.
“Kim and Eunha at Kheir Clinic were so awesome to work with. You know, it’s one thing to build a website, but the hill to climb is to keep organized and to hit deadlines. I commend their tenacity to be able to get the leadership to buy into the vision we had for the brand. So, really nearing the end of the project, from a code standpoint, we were completely done. The last push was to make sure that we had everyone in the company on board. It was a cool experience... can’t wait to work with them again.”
