This was day one.
I froze my pension and walked away from commercial construction for a shot at building something of my own.
There was plenty of fear. But I knew how to work, and I knew the trades would always be there if I had to go back.
Four months after opening, COVID shut everything down. We kept our heads down, figured it out and kept moving.
Running a business does not have an off switch. People say, “Must be nice,” but they do not see the late nights, weekends, slow months, broken equipment or jobs that have to get done no matter how tired you are.
I have learned more by getting punched in the mouth than I ever could have learned from a book. I am still learning every day.
But this leap gave us more than a business.
Without taking this chance, we never would have met Chris and Colleen next door. Those doors may have never opened, and Morgan may have never come into our lives through adoption.
That alone makes every hard day worth it.
None of it happens without going against the grain, taking risks and doing the hard thing without knowing where it will lead.
In a world full of digital printers and heat presses, we still believe in putting ink through a screen. It takes more work, skill and time. That is what makes true screen printing a premium.
Grateful for the highs, the lows and every person this business has brought into our lives.
No going back.
We are here to stay.
