Everyday Wishes Unnumbered
What will we be in fifty years time? A hundred? We might matter now, but we won’t matter then. Before long we won’t matter soon. Just corpses that lay in the ground, ashes in an urn, pictures in a book on a shelf (or in the landfills of trash, faded and forgotten). Our toils and tribulations we face today are ephemeral and insignificant. Wasting away our hours into money and gadgets and toys. Dreams traded at the cost of our health and mentality. For what? The battles and wars fought theatrically for the will of the day. The words read upon these epitaphs rubbed away like grains of dirt and sand, memories washed away like we never even existed.
It is a seemingly meaningless existence. Religions speak of an afterlife and a foretold future that exists beyond what we are experiencing now. Yet we are just that. Experiencing. In unnumbered ways beyond our understanding we are interlinked. We might not know each other consciously, but we are each one another subconsciously. The thoughts we have, dreams and worlds beyond number. Beyond infinity we seek such mundane and profane things like food to the ant. But we have to grow to understand that God and the universe are one. That we are made of things in this universe and that the image of God is represented in who we are along with everything else. To which I will say. We are each other, unborn and timeless. Everyday wishes beyond human comprehension unnumbered.
