Cadet Henry’s story was such an inspiring one to share this month. Thank you to him and his family for allowing me the opportunity to highlight his dedication, heart, and passion for service through the Civil Air Patrol. It is incredibly inspiring to see such a young member of our community already showing so much discipline, leadership, and purpose, and I know his story will encourage others as well. So proud to feature another amazing young person from our community!!!

Most of us think we know the Kittitas Valley… but there’s a whole layer of history and culture here that’s still being lived and passed down today.

I had the chance to learn about the after-school program Sia Aronica—and all the incredible people who help support this work—and what they’re doing with local students to reconnect them with language, traditions, heritage, and a deeper understanding of the land we all share.

It really made me pause and look at our valley a little differently.

This one’s worth the read. Thank you Sia and all those who support the Native Language and Culture After-School Program... you are making a difference!

The Ellensburg Rodeo Arena Grandstands Reconstruction project is rebuilding and improving the grandstands and surrounding areas to create safer seating, better access for everyone, improved walkways, and a more comfortable experience for families, visitors, athletes, and volunteers. These updates will help the grounds serve not only rodeo week, but many events throughout the year.

Thank you to every person who played a role, big or small, in making this happen. Because of you, future generations will laugh here, cheer here, and make memories here that they will carry for a lifetime.

Your courage, love, and honesty remind us why this community is so special.

Ellensburg, this is our moment to shine.

When one family hurts, we all feel it — and right now, the Schultz-Utter family needs our love more than ever.

Their sweet, spunky two-year-old, Wesley, was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. In just days, their world turned upside down as they rushed to Seattle Children’s Hospital and began the long road of treatment.

But through heartbreak, this family has shown incredible strength — and our community has already started wrapping them in the same kindness Ellensburg is known for.
