Today in the Spotlight: Panzerotti.

Panzerotti are savory "Italian turnovers" stuffed, folded into a half-moon, and deep-fried until golden and crispy. Think of it as the lighter, street-food cousin of the calzone. The name comes from panza — “belly” — because that plump, generously filled center is the whole point.

At Positano’s Slice & Ice, we fry ours until the dough is blistered and crunchy, then finish them with a dusting of cheese and herbs. Every one comes with a side of marinara for dipping.
