Reasons to Ride PA Ride Stop: Back 2 Barney’s: A Destination Worth the Ride

For motorcycle riders, the best destinations are more than just places to eat and drink. They’re places with history, character, good people, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Back 2 Barney’s in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.

Located just minutes from Route 60 and Interstate 376, Back 2 Barney’s has become a popular stop for riders looking for a great meal, a cold drink, and a relaxing place to unwind after a day on the road.

The building itself is part of local history. Originally established as Barney’s in 1945, the bar served the community for generations before the previous owners retired. After a restaurant occupied the location for several years and eventually closed, a group of local friends saw an opportunity to preserve a landmark while creating something new.

Two years ago, the group pooled their resources, purchased the building, and began the next chapter. Wanting to honor the history of the establishment while giving it a fresh identity, they renamed it Back 2 Barney’s.

Since taking ownership, the owners have invested heavily in improvements. Inside, guests will find a welcoming atmosphere complete with multiple televisions and a mini-jumbotron-style display above the bar, making it a great place to catch the game while enjoying a meal.

Outside is where Back 2 Barney’s truly shines.

A massive custom-built pergola stretches from the building and serves as one of the area’s most unique outdoor gathering spaces. Six independent roof sections can be opened or closed depending on weather conditions, while large glass side panels allow fresh air and sunshine to flow through. On beautiful summer evenings, riders can enjoy dinner and drinks beneath the stars with the roof open and the breeze rolling through.

The menu is a tribute to Beaver County’s rich food traditions.

One of the owners’ mothers was well known throughout the area for the recipes she served at the former Marsha’s Main Street Bar. Today, guests can still enjoy her famous Friday fish dinners and signature wing seasoning that helped build a loyal following over the years.

Back 2 Barney’s also keeps another local legend alive through its connection to Demenel’s, a beloved Aliquippa establishment that served generations of workers from the nearby J&L Steel mill. As thousands of steelworkers traveled through town after their shifts, Demenel’s became famous for hearty sandwiches and hometown hospitality. Today, Back 2 Barney’s proudly carries on that tradition by serving the classic Demenel’s Steak Sandwich and Demenel’s Sausage Sandwich. And one of the reason that the sausage sandwich is such a big seller as it's made by a local sausage company in Aliquippa called Cesina's sausage.

The restaurant’s partnership with Metro Grill in Center Township brings another local favorite to the menu. Guests ordering salads are encouraged to try Metro’s famous house dressing, one of the restaurant’s most requested items.

When it comes to crowd favorites, however, one item consistently steals the spotlight—the Smash Burger. Frequently mentioned among the area’s best burgers and regularly appearing in local voting contests, it has become the restaurant’s signature item.

For those who appreciate a quality pour after a long ride, Back 2 Barney’s regularly stocks sought-after bourbons including Buffalo Trace, Colonel E.H. Taylor, Eagle Rare, Angel’s Envy, and Blanton’s.

Motorcyclists will especially appreciate the easy access and spacious parking area, making it simple for individuals or larger riding groups to stop in and enjoy the experience. Whether you’re traveling through Western Pennsylvania, exploring Beaver County’s back roads, or looking for a new destination ride with friends, Back 2 Barney’s offers a combination of history, hospitality, and great food that’s becoming harder and harder to find.

Some places are worth visiting.

Others are worth riding to.

Back 2 Barney’s is both.

A huge thank you to Erie Harley-Davidson for being the perfect partner for my very first time hosting a tattoo party in PA. Thank you to the many artists who brought amazing examples of their work, cover-ups, and shared ideas.

We had some fantastic tattoo entries. Unlike many events where people simply walk around, a tattoo party gets everyone involved sharing stories behind the ink, ideas for future ink, and custom awards.

And we're just getting started!

Mark your calendars for August 12, 2026, when we bring Iron Ink to the Edinboro-McKean VFW Post 740 Bike Night. This venue is huge, the country ride out is beautiful, and we already have several vendors signed up.

Harley-Davidson of Erie kicked off summer in style with an incredible Open House and a fantastic turnout!

Guests enjoyed free food from Otis 12, tons of giveaways (including an electric guitar), and plenty of time to check out the beautiful motorcycles filling the showroom. Reasons to Ride Magazine joined the fun with a Tattoo Party that added a unique twist to an already great day.

If you've never stopped by Harley-Davidson of Erie, you're missing out. Their showroom is packed with bikes for every type of rider, but one of the real highlights is the MotorClothes department. I've visited Harley dealerships all across the country, and Jess has transformed the Erie MotorClothes department into one of the best I've seen anywhere.

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make it a great day. Summer riding season is officially underway!
