Do you love black (or generally more moody/edgy styles), but you just found out you’re a SUMMER!?

Honestly, I had a bit of an identity crisis when I learned that black wasn’t my best dark neutral. But then I discovered the beautiful deep, earthy, and moody Summer colors that give the vibe of black while not being so harsh for my Summer coloring.

TIPS 💡

* Lean into your palette’s deeper and earthier tones

* Pair Summer colors in more high contrast ways for drama

* Or, combine them tonally for a deep and sophisticated vibe

ALSO! If you also want to keep some black in your wardrobe 🤚, these deeper colors pair well with black, so wear them together to wear the black in your closet you love! No color police, here - it’s all about tools to help you look and feel your best. For some clothing personalities, we need the edge and drama. 🤘

Hey, I’m Christina - Owner of House of Colour Essex Junction, Vermont!

Here’s a few fun facts about me:

🎨 I was certified as a Color and Style Analyst in 2023. Prior to that, I worked in Branding, Marketing, and Communications. I’ve always loved art, design, and color!

🤸 When not in the color studio, you’ll find me teaching (and practicing) yoga, exploring the outdoors 🎿 🏔️ , lifting 💪, and spending time with my family and friends.

☀️ I’m a House of Colour Summer (mid/deep subseason). My Clothing Personality is Dramatic Classic - I love clean, sophisticated styles with pops of drama, interesting silhouettes, or bold elements to bring in lux or edge.

🎭 I’m an ambivert - I’m social and outgoing, but I also love (and need!) my alone time.

📍 I was born and raised in the Seattle area. Our family moved to Vermont in 2024.
