It's amazing to see the difference in size between calves that were born a couple of days ago, and a calf that was most likely born last week or the week before! These babies grow quickly!

From Rocky Mountain National Park:

Spring road maintenance is now underway on Old Fall River Road, located on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park. The road is closed to all uses (including pedestrians and cyclists) Tuesdays through Fridays between the hours of 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This closure is expected to remain in place through the month of June. The road normally opens to vehicles in late June/early July.

While spring opening operations are underway, Old Fall River Road is open to pedestrians and cyclists on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays; the road is also open to these users Tuesdays through Fridays after 4:30 p.m.

All users must adhere to posted road closure signs. Violators will be cited. Parking in front of the access gate to Old Fall River Road is prohibited. Park vehicles will be entering and exiting Old Fall River Road throughout the day. Any vehicles that block road access will be towed and cited.

For more information on Rocky Mountain National Park, please call the park’s Information Office at (970) 586-1206 or visit the park website at www.nps.gov/romo.

We were honored to be invited to the Estes Valley Library's "Wall-Breaking" Ceremony last Friday! Today, June 1, their renovation kicks off -- one that's totally funded by years of prudent financial management along with amazing donations from our community. No tax increases required. Another great part about the renovation? The Library is striving to remain open through the entire process, adjusting services and programs to work around the construction and still meet the needs of patrons. So awesome!

Learn more about the renovation at estesvalleylibrary.org/renovation, read their article from the May edition of the news, issuu.com/estesparknews/docs/estes_park_news_may_15_2026/21 (or view on our website at estesparknews.com/estes_valley_spotlight/article_79a40bf2-e03f-4cb2-841c-185d1c9a37bc.html), and check the comments for a few videos of the sledgehammer swinging!
