A client request sent us into the vaults and we stumbled into this video about an effort to fully fund K-12 education. We still love it. Some of the kids who narrated have grown up!

Though six years ago the video played a key part in an effort that achieved a much higher funding level from the legislature than initially feared, the gap persists and Oregon is still falling behind. We would love to see the need for projects like this disappear. Here you go, in Vimeo, it's that old.

To chart a path forward, it’s important to know where we stand. This video provides an overview of how Oregon schools compare to others across the nation and…

We love using GIFs to tell a story. Springfield Utility Board put us on the job of reminding the community about its water infrastructure along with tips for source protection. This is one of a series. You can see them all on the Springfield Utility Board page. (Also, how often do we get to use a photo of a dog pooping?)

We're absolutely thrilled to see this combination of projects (logo, name, website and brand development) to fruition. With a new name and brand, this reorganized United Way-supported program is poised to more efficiently and strategically do its work of helping Lane County parents find programs for their young children. A one-stop website brings programs and services together in one easy-to-navigate site that projects warmth and professionalism. Thanks to a fantastic client team for putting us on the job!

LaneKids and the Early Learning Alliance are excited to introduce our merger – the Early Childhood Hub of Lane County! This new name and brand bring together the interconnected work we’ve been providing all along, and allows our efforts to have a simpler and stronger identity.

Not much is changing behind-the-scenes, as our staff and partners continue to support parents, families, and providers throughout Lane County.

Our new, streamlined website, www.earlychildhoodlane.org, features all of the same great content for parents and caregivers you’ve come to expect from LaneKids, and all of the same resources from the Early Learning Alliance, now all in one place. We look forward to continuing to serve Lane County families and kids under this new name for many years to come!

For one of our clients in particular. Or two. You know who you are. 🤣

We’re enjoying watching our client, Amelia Zahm, DAOM develop Ground and Sky. She came to us about a year ago for help with the practice name and a logo design. After that, we built a website that allows her to manage content, schedule appointments and evolve the business. The site is helping build a virtual practice and proving useful for in-person care in Joseph, Oregon. Aesthetically, Ground and Sky demonstrates the value of thoughtful custom photography. With just a quick visit, you can quickly get a sense of this intelligent, intuitive provider. Take a look for yourself.

Sometimes, things go wrong despite taking all the right measures, quadruple-checking and knocking on wood. We’ve all experienced a bad website URL as a plain old “Page Not Found” or “404”. As tight as our websites are, sometimes a visitor will mistype an address, or a very, very, very old link will surface from a site’s previous life. We like to use this as an opportunity for a friendly digital ‘ooops’. Our favorite so far? Oregon Pupil Transportation Association’s 404. Here’s a bogus link so you can try:

Hey, if they can rebrand and have a new logo, why not us? 😉 What do you think about our new design?

Dodging rain! We lucked out and snagged a DRY series of outdoor vignettes in preparation for an HR recruiting video we're producing. It's always nice to get out of the office for a shoot, but we love it when we get to work with this client and this video team!

When we're creating video content, we're often asked about the need for 'captioning'. It's a fairly loose term for a precise result, and prompts us to ask more details about the desired outcome. Most clients are looking for accessibility, which would call for closed captions. Below, we've posted a link that explains the difference as applied to the Netflix's Squid Game.

How to get the CCs? They can be auto-generated, but the results can be awkward. Here's a great example we encountered earlier this year. (Please, don't get pregnant in the studio.)

Summer is unquestionably in our rear view mirror. We're remembering a great day working with our video team on the McKenzie River in June. We got extremely wet at this particular site, but the temps were in the mid 90s and we were happy for the chill. Shown here: Ryan cheerfully said 'yes' when Cathy asked him to get closer. (Next time: hiking shoes!)
