One of the most underrated strategies for content creators is the power of repurposing content.

At first thought, repurposing your content seems like a “grab for views” or even “shady” because you aren’t bringing anything “new” to the table.

I completely understand where those ideas come from, but they are completely missing out on both the value of the original content AND the untapped audience that needs to see your video.

💡 Let’s use this one video as an example

➡️ Not everyone is subscribed to the Think Media Podcast (where this original video is from)

➡️ The content makes sense with our Think Media audience, but might be slightly longer than our current content and not produced in the same way, so we shorten the video into a piece of content perfect for the Think Media audience.

➡️ We saw the opportunity to shorten that content even more into a bite sized video (IGTV’s) that makes sense for our social platforms.

➡️ Then we saw the opportunity to shorten it EVEN MORE into a short, reel, and TikTok sized video.

➡️ Finally, there was a quote said in the episode that is worthy enough for an image graphic that can make it onto Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and the YouTube Community tab.

The original video had about 6,000 views while all of the other pieces of content brought in another 100,000 views.

Since we spent the time editing the video to be shorter and to fit on different platforms in different ways, we were able to reach more people that would never have seen the quality of content in the original video.

This definitely isn’t the first time we’ve made a conscious effort to find ways to repurpose one video into multiple pieces of content, and it won’t be our last.

Nashville is like our second home! Almost every weekend road trip we can take (not enough), you’ll find us in Nashville.
We have some wonderful friends who live in Nashville and we’re thankful they’re all safe!
We have made some beautiful memories in this beautiful city and we are looking forward to new memories here.
Our hearts and prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones, those who were injured and whose homes and businesses were demolished.
Our hearts are heavy for this wonderful city and this season of restoration.
