When it’s cloudy, rain/sleet/snow, can’t make up its mind whether outside. It can be sunny inside with an acai bowl.
I have had an insane sweet tooth the past two days but alas we cut out sugar this year so this was perfect. Sweet, filling and only natural sugars. I’ll post this insanely easy treat in my stories

All is Merry All is bright. But in all actuality all is pukey. Tis the season for the Christmas stomach flu. I’m praying just the one person gets it. Would that be considered a Christmas miracle? When we went to NY recently the stores had such beautiful fall planters. I loved the use of the cabbages and all the different colors. When I have to do something, I don’t particularly enjoy, like a chore, I will often make a game of it. Today, I was soft boiling an egg and had my timer going, so I raced the timer while unloading the dishes. I won, by the way. It just brings a bit of fun to an otherwise monotonous chore. I also get joy out of it, something so simple and seemingly silly gives me joy.

Does anyone else make games up for themselves and not just your children? If so what do you do? What little things bring you joy?

Morning and night on my most magical porch. There was a moment when I thought my house would never be finished being painted. I came to grips with the reality that my painters would be here forever. It was supposed to take 6 weeks but instead took 4 months!!! But now it’s done and my porch is magical and I’ve already forgotten the pain of house painting. Sorta like childbirth 😂

I am taking my first girls trip, where I had to get on a plane, in 25 years. No husband, no kids, just me and a friend. It’s been full of beach, sand, waves, sunshine, food and laughing.
It’s so important to feed your soul and your friendships. It’s just good to get away and refocus. I would encourage everyone to do this from time to time.
Meanwhile, at home, Shelby reframed the bathroom wall, at our house, we are remodeling. He’s also fed and chauffeured kids and managed schedules. I’ll come home tanned, refreshed and to a new wall.
In just about a week he’s going on a fishing trip with his buddies. I’ll stay home and manage the homefront and work at the house.
Find the cheap flight and go for a few days, you won’t regret it.
