I spotted this backpack drive through the Evergreen Chamber and wanted to help spread the word. 🇺🇸

Supporting our veterans has always mattered to me. As a business owner, I’m grateful for those who have served and sacrificed to protect the freedoms that allow us to follow our dreams, start businesses, and take chances on something we believe in.

With Veterans Day approaching, this is a practical way to turn that gratitude into support for veterans experiencing homelessness.

TallGrass Spa and The Wild Game/Tequilas are accepting donations of everyday essentials, along with notes of appreciation, to fill backpacks. Requested items are listed in the graphic.

Please drop off donations by October 31:

📍 The Wild Game/Tequilas: 1204 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen
📍 TallGrass Spa: 997 Upper Bear Creek Road, Evergreen

If you’re able, pick up a few of the requested items and drop them off this week. Our veterans deserve our support on Veterans Day and throughout the year.

I’ve managed adults, taught kids, and given AI some very detailed instructions. Each takes a different communication style. 😂

Adults bring experience and great ideas. But sometimes we’re so busy thinking about what WE want to say that we miss the actual question. And yes, I’m including myself here.

Kids bring imagination that constantly surprises me. Watching my own children and the kids in my AI Clubs create and explore is one of my favorite things.

But first, I have to get everyone’s attention. And someone is upside down. And someone is hungry. Again. Please tell me that last part isn’t just my kids. 😂

Then there’s AI.

It can make mistakes, miss instructions, and push back. I still have to explain what I want and check its work. Sometimes that means spelling out, “First, OPEN the peanut butter jar.”

But I can clarify the same instruction five times without it getting offended, rolling its eyes, or asking when snack time is.

I can handle the prompting. It’s the attitude I could use a break from.

47 steps. Zero eye rolls. I’ll take it. 🤖🥪

On October 22, I joined the Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce for its Women in Business Luncheon at Mount Vernon Canyon Club. 💙

It was a chance to connect with other women in business, celebrate the work happening in our mountain community, and hear from guest speaker Traci Brown, a body language expert and former U.S. National Cycling Team member.

One of the things I value about building EverBot is getting to be part of gatherings like this and getting to know the people behind our local businesses.

I also bought raffle tickets benefiting Bootstraps, which helps local students continue their education through scholarships and interest-free loans. And I won a w**e basket! 🍷

Thank you to Sohum Financial Planning, LLC, for donating the basket, and to the Chamber for bringing everyone together. Supporting local students and coming home with a little bonus? I’ll take it.

Put “clean up Google Drive” on your AI task list. 📁

We tried it at EverBot:
85 files and 2 folders filed into existing folders
136 names cleaned up
76 files set aside for our review

Every file was kept, and existing sharing stayed unchanged.

Here’s the desktop setup to try:

1. Install the ChatGPT desktop app and sign in.

2. Choose Codex—the mode we used—or ChatGPT → Work.

3. Go to Customize → Plugins. Install Google Drive, connect your Google account, and review the permissions. [Plugin setup]().

4. Start a NEW chat. Type @ and select Google Drive. Paste a link to ONE folder you own. Ask whether the connection can move and rename files.

5. Copy this first: “Review this folder. Use my existing folders. Suggest clearer names and file locations. Flag anything uncertain. Don’t make changes yet.”

Read the plan. Correct anything that doesn’t fit.

6. Then say: “Apply the approved plan. Keep every file and version. Don’t delete anything or change sharing. Put uncertain items in a ‘To Organize’ folder if access can stay unchanged; otherwise flag them in place. Keep a change log.”

7. Open Drive, check the results, and work through the review folder. Ask AI to verify names, locations and sharing.

The benefit: less manual sorting and a smaller list of decisions that need you.

Save this and start with one folder.

Available features and actions depend on your plan, workspace and connection permissions.

A little local love 💚

Saturday I stopped by Chillax Om to celebrate their one-year anniversary. Congratulations on such an amazing milestone, and thank you for all you do for our community!

On Monday, I joined Toast before the Table at The Evergreen Gallery ahead of the Women in Business Luncheon. I love making time to support local businesses and connect with other women in business.

Grateful to be part of this community!

Two AI Clubs, two age groups, and a few spots left in each.

Evergreen Middle School, grades 6-8: AI Game Studio

Students use AI as a coding partner to build a game of their own. They practice explaining an idea clearly, testing what comes back, and fixing what doesn’t work.
Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30 PM, four meetings, Oct 20 to Nov 17
$150, capped at 15 students

Starts next Tuesday. Register: everbot.tech/ai-club/ems

Marshdale Elementary, grades K-5: Video Games

Kids design a game character, build a game world with AI rules, invent a power-up, design a boss, and try to break the AI in Glitch Week. They learn how the AI inside real games works, with no devices: just cardboard, craft supplies, and blocks.
Wednesdays, 2:35-4:00 PM, nine club days, Nov 18 to Feb 3
$275, capped at 15 students

Register: everbot.tech/ai-club/marshdale

Big news from EverBot: Wander Lab is open! 🎉

Wander Lab is a curious AI guide for kids in grades 2 to 6. Kids type or talk to Arf, our robot dog, about anything they wonder about: black holes, octopuses, how volcanoes work. Arf answers at their level and asks a question back to keep them exploring.

Parents stay in the loop with a note every evening (plus a question to ask at dinner), can read any conversation anytime, and get an email right away if something sounds like a safety concern.

Made right here in Evergreen. Try it free for 14 days: https://wanderlab.ai

It’s voting time already?! 🗳️

How is everyone enjoying the campaign ads, mystery-number texts, and commercials saying “VOTE YES!” immediately followed by “ABSOLUTELY VOTE NO!”?

Personally, I would appreciate one that just says, “Here’s what this actually means.” 😅

Jenny here. I spent part of today working through my ballot with AI, and I had QUESTIONS.

“Isn’t this already allowed?”
“What actually changes if this passes?”
“Does the money have to go where they say?”
“Wait, does this contradict the other measure?”

And my personal favorite: “Okay, explain that again. In plain English, please.”

That was the useful part: being able to keep asking questions.

I wasn’t just looking at each measure separately. I was asking how they might work together, whether their requirements conflict, and whether two funding proposals draw from the same money.

Because agreeing with a goal and agreeing with the particular law being proposed are not necessarily the same thing.

Here’s something to try with your state’s official voter guide:

💬 “Explain this ballot measure in plain English using the official guide and full measure text. What would YES and NO mean? What are the exceptions and tradeoffs? Does it conflict with another measure or use overlapping funding? Show me the sources, flag anything uncertain, and don’t tell me how to vote.”

Then open those sources and check. AI can make mistakes, miss important details, and sound confident when it is wrong. A citation is something to verify, not a guarantee.

Use the public voter guide, not a photo of your completed ballot or personal information.

This is the kind of everyday AI use we talk about at EverBot: asking questions, getting help understanding complicated information, and keeping your own judgment involved.

Let AI help with the homework. You still hold the pen. 🖊️
