Behind the Design: More Than a Logo

Now that I am operating as a Strategic Brand & Systems Designer, I have upgraded the way I deliver brand concepts to my clients.

A logo should never be presented as a standalone graphic on a blank page.

Every concept I deliver now includes:
• The strategic thinking behind the mark
• The intention behind each design choice
• Visual mockups for real-world context
• A clear connection to the client’s inspiration and long-term goals

When a client shares their ideas, preferences, and vision, I listen carefully. I look for patterns. I look for meaning. I look for alignment.

Then I build.

This presentation format allows clients to clearly see how their input shaped the outcome. It creates connection, not just to how the logo looks, but to what it represents and how it will function.

Because branding is not decoration.
It is infrastructure.

A single logo is a starting point.
A brand system is what creates consistency, clarity, and confidence as a business grows.

When you launch with a cohesive branding system, you are not scrambling to piece things together later. You are stepping into the market with structure and intention.

Nellie Knots 🤍🎀

Sometimes being a creative person feels really special. Other times, it can feel challenging to find deeper purpose in your work. Not everyone needs creative services, and sometimes art is just art. It does not always amount to much beyond that.

With this project, I had something different in mind.

I envisioned building something for my niece, Nellie, that would not only bring beautiful new products into my sister-in-law’s boutique, but also give Nellie the opportunity to do something meaningful alongside her mama. More than that, I wanted it to be something that could help support Nellie’s future.

This display started as a random creative idea in my head, and somehow it came together exactly how I imagined it. Now Malia can use this stand to sell Nellie-inspired hair accessories, bows, and all the little things that make girls feel special. The best part is that the profits can go straight toward Nellie’s future.

Being able to use my creativity and skill to create something bigger than “just art” has filled my heart in a way I cannot fully explain. I feel a true sense of purpose today as Nellie Knots officially launches.

I love Nellie more than she will ever know, and I hope this little brand, logo, and display stand help build a bright and beautiful future for her. I am also hoping that one day I can find a way to do something like this for all of my nieces and nephews.

This moment means everything to me. 💕🎀

Hello everyone,

I’ve been attempting to reach out individually over the past couple of days, but I wanted to make this public post to be sure I connect with all of my clients.

Unfortunately, I became very ill with COVID last week and have since developed an acute kidney infection. Doctors also mentioned I may have passed a kidney stone, based on what they saw on my CT. This has been one of the most painful and difficult health experiences I’ve ever faced.

I’ve tried a few times to get back to work, but the headaches and pain make it difficult to sit up or look at my computer for long. Please know that I am doing everything I can to recover as quickly as possible. As soon as I am able, I will focus on getting your projects completed without delay.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding as I navigate this unexpected setback. Thank you for your kindness and continued trust in me—I look forward to being back to full strength soon.
