I headed down to the Village tonight for Mike Aho’s retirement celebration and ended up driving around looking for a parking spot. After several laps, I finally admitted defeat and headed back home.

On the bright side, it looks like the community showed up in a big way for Mike. If the parking situation was any indication, there were a lot of people there wishing him well on his retirement.

Congratulations, Mike. Looks like Fair Oaks wasn’t about to let you sneak out quietly. 😊 Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District

For 80 years, the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks has quietly helped make our community stronger.

It was an honor to attend their 80th Anniversary Celebration and spend the evening with the people who continue to show up, year after year, to serve others, support local causes, and make a difference both here in Fair Oaks and around the world.

Is anybody else following her journey? Man, I was watching for sharks or a whale the whole time she was in the water! 😂

Here’s a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of the new outro we’re creating for our YouTube videos and podcast interviews.

The format is simple: an introduction, the conversation or interview, and then an outro that highlights the local business or organization we’re featuring. While podcast listeners may not see this portion, many people watch YouTube on their TVs these days (I know I do!), so I wanted to create something special for those viewers.

As we continue producing content, each of our Local Legends partners will have their own featured segment that showcases their business, their story, and the role they play in our community. Right now, I’m working on an interview with Peggy Perez about osteoporosis and bone health, and another with an estate planning attorney. They may not be perfect, but they’re getting done, and we’ll keep improving with every episode.

I love the feel of this music and the symbolism behind our Local Legends logo. The leaves on the tree represent the local businesses, organizations, and people who help our community thrive. Fair Oaks has always been passionate about supporting local, and that’s something I’ve been proud to be part of since 2009.

Building I Love Fair Oaks has been a journey of growth, learning, overcoming obstacles, and becoming more visible. Now I want to help local businesses do the same by creating content that helps them consistently show up and connect with the community.

If you’re a local business owner and would like to learn more about our Local Legends program, you’ll find all the information on the I Love Fair Oaks website.

For now, I just wanted to share this because it makes me smile.

Here’s our new outro.
