I had a great time helping at KUAC premiere of Sesame Street and The Great Elephant Adventure (a collaborative project with Nature on PBS). The event was a joint effort with the Noel Wien Public Library. We had 64 kids and adults attend the show, participate in kids activities, take photos with Molly of Denali, and more.

KUAC's fall fundraiser is October 3rd through 11th. We still need phone bank volunteers, challenge donors, and food/service donors. Sign up to help at kuac.org

We are wrapping up my mid-quarter update with a story that is close to my heart.

I first met Wendy Cloyd while producing a story on Fragile X Syndrome. I recently reconnected with her for a feature on the Fairbanks Resource Agency where she works as the Community Development Director. I learned more about the organization that helped her family, and heard about the success of her grown children. ❤️

The August 2026 GVEA Employee Spotlight features Pav Komkai, the Manager of Systems Applications and Development. Pav was recruited to right out of the University of Alaska Fairbanks and works to ensure software applications benefit all GVEA departments and members.

Now onto the August portion of my mid-quarter updates! I had a chance to attend a workshop held by the Alaska Department of Natural Resources workshop on how to stake a mining claim. There has been a significant uptick in mining claims and producing the paperwork properly prevents delays.

At any time, there are between 40,000 and 42,000 mining claims in Alaska.

Another client update!

As your know, Pagesculptor Studios has worked with Frosty Feet Running Company since it opened in 2020. This year, Frosty Feet Running Company and Frosty Feet Timing are launching the Frosty Feet Half Marathon (former known as the HooDoo Half Marathon) and Pagesculptor Studios is helping out with setup of the registration site and social media accounts, in addition to managing social media through October.

We love being a part of our client's growth and expansion!

New Client Update!

In July, Pagesculptor Studios began contracting with KUAC TV & FM to produce their weekly eNews and help manage their social media accounts. Public broadcasting means everything to me. It's where I got my official start in the industry and it has kept me connected to the communities I've lived in.

I am beyond the moon to have this opportunity to work with KUAC in this capacity.

Happy National Dog Day! Java and I are celebrating 8.5 years of adventures, shenanigans, and competitions. She has opened up a whole world to me and we have made so many new friends on our journey.

We wish all dog families the best on this special day!

In the Summer 2026 edition, I got to talk to the Associated General Contractors of Alaska about how they develop and schedule training sessions, classes, and workshops to keep members up-to-date about the construction industry.
