Throwing back to the Arthur Murray Summer Showcase! There were so many awesome professional shows that I don't have enough easels to show them off at the upcoming Fall Freestyles. So I'm going back to putting up a poll to vote for your favorites. The top 4 likes counted by next Wednesday September 2 will be printed and displayed at their upcoming event on September 11 - 12. Amazing Day 1 of the through the streets of yesterday - back for the race today before they take down this temporary street course. I am stunned how it turned out and feel very privileged to have been here to see it!

This was the sixth year of making some portraits of all the well-dressed attendees of the Tysons Chamber Summer Soirée held at the beautiful Archer Hotel Tysons |📍Tyson's Corner. It was a perfect night out on the balcony for photos and I had a great time reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting many new ones! I hope everyone enjoyed the evening! thanks to Andrew Clark for having me cover the is event again this year and thanks to Ricky Castro for the crowd photos!

Today was another solar eclipse day! We had less than 5% of the sun eclipsed over our area but it was still worth the effort to go out and get some photos of the partially covered sun this afternoon. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the photos online from the areas of totality! Did you happen to see it where you are?

We didn’t have that much of an today but it was still worth a trip outside with the camera and a to get some photos of the sun and - apparently. It’s amazing what captions will make you realize about your speech patterns when you are concentrating on something other than speaking 🤣🤣

Tangible photography! Printing is still a big part of my business. Albums are still a great way to group the photos together for a polished presentation. Here is my latest book that I created for a little portfolio to show as an example. These are some of my favorite photos from shoots around the Tysons Virginia area in 2025. The soft image cover has a nice texture to make a first impression when you pick it up, and the thick pages are a sturdy canvas for the photos. If you are a photographer - print more of your work! Photos have such a different quality on paper compared to screens, and it is a beautiful analog way to display your images. If you need any help with some of the myriad of options out there, reach out to me, and I can help! I have examples of most of these in my studio.

I knew I would be busy photographing a conference for most of the day, so I let my little content creation camera go making a timelapse. The buzz of the cars coming out of DC, everyone walking around the Rosslyn area on foot, or on bikes, it was so much to see for such a short clip! It was a snapshot of all the things going on around us at one time - we're just going about our day along with everyone else! I hope everyone is having a good week so far - it is going to get hot out there this week!

It is always a big accomplishment for us to finish a set of photos from an Arthur Murray event! Here is a look at one of the composite posters that we made from photos of the professional group routines that ended the Spring Freestyles event. These were fun to make! The dancers are from the Gainesville and Arthur Murray Dance Studio Ashburn - enjoy!

I think the tapping of the rain on the roof of the studio made me think of leaning into the sounds during this setup. It is funny how quickly the setup looks compared to how long it actually took me to setup! Filming while trying to work is quadruple the amount of effort - respect to all those content creators out there!
