I had such a fantastic time today leading a breakout session and joining a panel at the annual NDPRA (North Dakota Parks & Recreation Association) Conference!

In our session, we dove into the world of short-form video—what it should accomplish, why it matters, key content categories to consider, and strategies for success. We even got to watch a bunch of funny reels together... tough day at work, right? 🙂‍↔️

Huge thanks to the amazing team at for including me in this year’s conference. Parks play a vital role in shaping vibrant, connected communities, and I’m truly honored to have shared ideas with the incredible folks doing the hands-on work to bring events, joy, and connection to people across North Dakota. 🤍

In the realm of Instagram, where every post relies heavily on a visual component, crafting compelling imagery to complement your message is both an art & a strategic necessity.

It might seem daunting to consistently come up with pics that stop the scroll, but trust me, it’s totally worth it!

Take, for instance, this recent post highlighting the amazing philanthropic collaboration between .coffee & . They teamed up to turn used coffee grounds into fertilizer for Farm in the Dell’s 2024 strawberry patch—how cool is that? 🍓

Instead of going for the usual charity website pics or canva graphic templates, I knew this partnership deserved something compelling & unique.

So, I had this fun idea: a sprout popping out of used coffee grounds right there in the shop. ☕️🌱 It’s quirky, it grabs attention, and it gets people wondering, “Why is a plant sprouting from a saucer inside a coffee shop?” & bam, they’re diving into the caption to find out the full story!

As a social media expert, I’ve spent the past decade exercising the muscle of turning thoughts into visuals. Like any skill, it takes practice! So, next time you’re stuck for an image, don’t be afraid to get creative.

Embrace that brainstorming session & watch your storytelling skills grow! 🌱

Happy ! As a proud female-founded and owned business, I am incredibly grateful to collaborate with a remarkable community of women in business who have inspired me, mentored me, & supported me.

My mother, Beth Slette, was the first woman to exemplify true female leadership to me, & I continue to learn from her invaluable wisdom. She’s equally as kind & compassionate as she is influential & knowledgeable in her industry. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting her, you know she is simply the best 🥹
