After some reflection, I’ve decided to step away from social media to focus on what I love—crafting furniture. I’m done chasing trends, niches, or catchy phrases, and I’m moving forward with a simpler name: Chad A. King Furniture Maker. This replaces Ugly Duck Woodworks and Signs by Ugly Duck to better reflect who I am and what I do. Nearly all my work comes from referrals, so social media isn’t worth the effort anymore. The wifey asked for a wedding gift for a dear friend’s son. I was happy to oblige.
This was completely organic. It looks nothing like my original idea. It grew legs and I just let it go. Those are the most fun!

My daughter and I took a walk around town last evening. Hard to believe it’s been nearly 2 years since our first Farmland sign. Proud to say it still looks like new.
Hoping to get back to making more signs soon. I really love doing it and I miss it. ✌️

Ok gang. I’m still struggling to find my footing with this business. All the research says I need to niche down to one product. That’s a tough step. Been trying to find that niche for years.
It seems everyone makes tables and I’ve spent my whole career trying to be different but I would be happy making tables if that’s the market.
Anyone have an opinions on this matter?
Am I overthinking?
I appreciate any feedback.
