One of the best signs your marketing is working: Other people start sharing your story.

That’s the power of earned marketing channels — the focus of the second installment in our four-part “Marketing Mini” workshop series with Letterpress CEO Alex.

Earned channels include things like:
✔️ media coverage
✔️ online reviews
✔️ shares
✔️ word-of-mouth recommendations
✔️ community partnerships

Unlike owned channels, these aren’t spaces you directly control. They’re built through trust, relationships and reputation.

Strong earned media can amplify your message, strengthen credibility and help expand your reach in authentic ways. In our workshops, we explore these opportunities and help teams build thoughtful, sustainable marketing strategies.

Share your questions about earned channels below. Then stay tuned for part three, where Alex dives into paid channels. 👀

The age gap may be significant. The vibe gap? Not so much. 😎 Turns out good ideas (and good dance moves) don’t belong to any one generation.

What most employers get wrong about internships: They’re not “extra,” they’re essential.

Last month, Director of Community Success Jenn represented Letterpress at the Region 3 Top Employers for Interns reception, where we were honored alongside other organizations committed to creating meaningful internship experiences for students across the region.

Hosted by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia in partnership with the Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership (Virginia TOP), the event brought together employers, students and institutional partners to celebrate the impact of high-quality internships on workforce development and community growth.

Congratulations to our fellow award recipients — and thank you for investing in the next generation of talent with us.

Have you enjoyed working with a phenomenal intern? Shout them out in the comments!

We’re celebrating with a look at the shoes carrying the Letterpress team out the door and into the weekend a little early today.

Which pair would you pick?

What’s the difference between owned, earned and paid marketing channels — and why does it matter for your marketing plan?

Letterpress CEO Alex breaks it down in our new four-part “Marketing Mini” workshop series, starting with the foundation: owned channels.

From your website to your email list to your social media accounts, owned channels are the marketing spaces you control — and they’re often the backbone of a strong strategy.

At Letterpress we frequently host in-depth workshops like this for organizations and communities. They help teams better understand their audience, sharpen their messaging and build sustainable marketing strategies. This video series is a small taste of those conversations.

Share your questions about owned channels below. Then stay tuned for part two, where Alex dives into earned channels! 👀

It’s not just where you work — it’s who you get to work with. 💃

Around here, collaboration shows up in big ideas, shared wins…and occasionally, a little dancing from our fearless leaders.

When your team is invested in each other, the results follow (and so does the fun).

Meet Lisa, one of our project managers and graphic designers. 🎨

Lisa is the kind of teammate who makes both the work — and the people around her — better. She brings clarity and creativity to every project, helping marketing feel both thoughtful and effective.

Lisa proudly calls Southern Virginia home and cares deeply about our work and its impact in those communities.

Between years of running her own business, teaching creative skills, tending her garden and rescuing cats, Lisa brings a steady, hands-on perspective to everything she does.

Just steps from our office, the Prince Edward County courthouse lawn holds stories of courage that continue to guide our community. Each memorial stands as a tribute to local men and women who served — and gave everything — in service to our country. Today, and every day, we carry that reminder with us.

On Memorial Day we honor these soldiers’ sacrifice with gratitude and intention.

Want a snapshot of where Southwest Virginia is headed? This was the room.

Yesterday Ronda attended the 2026 Southwest Virginia Economic Forum at The University of Virginia's College at Wise, where leaders from across the region gathered to talk tourism, workforce, economic growth and the future of Central Appalachia. Governor Spanberger’s keynote added even more energy to a day already full of thoughtful conversations and big ideas.

Southwest Virginia continues to be one of the fastest-growing parts of our work, and events like this are a reminder of why. There’s a real willingness here to share ideas, build partnerships and move communities forward.

We were proud to sponsor the event and catch up with clients and partners like Amanda Livingston from Visit Smyth County.

One thing is clear: people are paying attention to what’s happening in this region of the Commonwealth.

Who’s doing thoughtful work in the region that we should be following?
