And that's a wrap.

7Roots is closing our doors.

Earlier this year, after lots of thought and processing, Angie and I decided to close 7Roots. It was the best and most challenging 5 years. We were able to support a team of amazing humans (who I still love dearly) and work with some amazing clients and do some really awesome projects. But as life evolves, so do we.

Everyone at 7Roots has moved on to bigger and better things and will continue to root each other on! I know we will remember this time together fondly and have a full repertoire of stories that start with, "Remember that one time we..." I will look fondly on this stage of life and be forever grateful that Josh, Angie, Kevin, Micah, Ruth, and Mattie said "yes" to this hair brained adventure 5 years ago.

Thank you for supporting us in our adventures! It really was the best.

Happy International Women’s Day from the women of 7Roots! I (Murphy) am so grateful for Ruth and Angie. They inspire me, they’re brave, they’re consistent, they’re beautiful, they’re talented... they are all the things women aspire to be. We would not be anywhere where we are as a company without the two of you.

This year we’ve had the privilege of working with Teen Challenge Monterey Bay. They are in the process of building Grace Harbor Women’s Center that will house 50 women in program as well as provide 48 emergency shelter beds for women and women with children.

1/3 of the homeless in our county are women and women with children. Teen challenge is changing that by providing a free program that helps people with life controlling problems face the issue in a safe space, and help them renter society with a job, job experience, or education.

Local Businesses we love (and use)!

As a member of the small business community, we know how hard people work - especially now. Small businesses build strong communities and strong communities build small businesses!

This week we’re featuring a little-known, but amazing business of Holiday Lighting Co. Looking for classy holiday lights or even professionally hung lights for an event space? Kevin and his crew are the ones we call on. Check out his webpage for photos of his outstanding work.

In the meantime, this is our backyard that he helped make into an outdoor living and refuge space. I can’t tell you the number of hours we spend out there. Thanks for making our yard vision come to life!

We love getting to work with companies on their merchandise lines. Getting a fresh design for your retail or online store doesn’t have to be a huge investment. One design can be used on multiple products and garments to increase your revenue stream, especially when a design is used for stickers!

Today we are highlighting our queen of checklists, Angie Sterrett. She usually works behind the scenes to support our clients and our team.

One of our long standing clients, Lisa (Executive Director of Carolina Creek), described Angie like this to her team.

“Angie Sterrett, founder/owner, is arguably the smartest of the 7Roots. She's the glue that makes the rest of them successful. She creates the cohesive unit, provides structure and discipline, and knows what everyone is doing, who has bandwidth, how to motivate each one, and how to provide the bridge between client expectation and artist vision. She is invaluable to our efforts. If anyone is the "boss of us", it's Angie. Shoot, I want her to be the boss of me. She knows how to get me to do things without me feeling any pain or missing a step on any other assignment. Angie will keep us all moving forward in a timely way. We are so grateful and humbled by the response to our store. Again, all profits made from these garments (and the stickers) are going directly to families who have lost their homes due to the CZU Lightning Complex Fires.
