I’d love for you to create along with me in my latest course: Sacred Sketchbook: Make a Mini Accordion Book with Collage and Mixed Media.

Collage is the perfect way to reconnect with your creativity, to explore what you’re drawn to visually, and to invite a bit of play into your practice.

Using a mini sketchbook is a low pressure way to dip back into making and to come away with something beautiful and meaningful to you.

Use my link for a free month of Skillshare to take this class and so many wonderful ones. Find it in my bio!

Have you been caught up in the bright blur of long summer days filled with alllll the things? This has been a beautifully busy season, and even with regular studio days, I've found myself a it rusty here and there. But my box of collage scraps invites me like an old friend—filling my sketchbooks with those bits and pieces gives me such great joy.

Summer is not over yet, so I'm hosting my own creative kickstart with a 5-day Collage Camp starting August 28:

☀Daily prompts light like fresh lemonade and just enough of a sugar buzz to jolt you into making

☀ Live virtual gathering around our collective craft table (September 1)

☀ A printable field guide of prompts, printable collage bits, techniques, and tips

It's sure to be a week to help us dust off the cobwebs and return to a state of creative play.

I even collaged a little worksheet you can read, scribble on, and cut up as an invitation to kickstart your own creative (collage practice), and I'll be opening registration for Collage Camp soon.

Head to my profile to download your worksheet and be the first to hear when registration opens!

Some of my earliest memories are made vibrant by the soft florals of sheets on the line, the enveloping all over print on my grandparents’ davenport. Patterns lend beauty to our everyday moments. I’m excited to share a growing selection of patterns available for bedding, wallpaper, and home decor are available now in my shop! You’ll find some of my favorite designs—many at large scale for great impact. I’m excited to see how these patterns will brighten moments and spaces in your home!

Walking is a simple return to ritual—So often when I walk it’s with music or a podcast or a friend’s voice in my ear, my dog sniffing along beside me. But we all need time to disconnect and that’s what I did this morning. Here’s a little moment recorded from my walk.

What’s your favorite simple way to unplug?

I've got a standing studio date every Friday this summer and I CAN'T WAIT! It involves lots of dreaming, making, pattern designing and a promise to myself not to let my art collect dust, but instead to give it some sun so more can come to life like this!

I'm sharing more about my summer plan's in today's Studio Notes, going out in just a couple hours. Hop on my list if you want the inside scoop.

Anyone else diving into a summer of creative exploration? I'm so here for it. 🌞

When my kids were still in preschool they had Fridays off. My youngest (still a homebody) loved nothing more than to snuggle on the couch with me while I watched my “doctor show” aka caught up on Greys Anatomy. He’d request it if it wasn’t on. 😂 I’d often have my sketchbook out too, making messes on the coffee table. They’ve both been in school on Fridays for a few years now, but the slow Friday starts stayed with me, and today I made a bit of a mess at the coffee table again while I caught up on my doctor show. There’s something inviting about a table low to the ground with room to spill out scraps and stretch my legs. Second cup of tea is finished, and now it’s time to ease in to the rest of my work before the weekend!

I love the associations building up with these daily pieces—this one created in the company of my daughter who was making her own art. Plus a little shelfie for good measure. 📚
