IPA (International Photography Awards) has acknowledged my photography once more with this letter. I enter about a half dozen juried competitions/yr because of the variety of judges on the panels and the fact that they are international. Always nice to be commended by the decision makers.

With the monsoons comes the opportunity to enjoy a colorful big sky. I went out to the Mormon lake overlook hoping for thunder and lightening with clouds over the San Francisco Peaks. Those elements were there though not together, aligned perfectl. I left with a blue twilight storm colored atmosphere in place. When I rounded the corner at the top of Lake Mary there was the scenario I was hoping to see. A bonus would have been capturing one of the few lightening bolts that were seen within this composition. Alas in my haste to leave the house for this local field trip I left my lightening trigger on my desk. Okay. Lesson relearned.

Reviewing some of 2025 images. This is one made last June 4th on the S.Rim of Grand Canyon. I hung out at this over look for the afternoon into dusk watching the rain squalls moving through and across the canyon. Nothing torrential. Just velvety female showers. Very refreshing.
