Subject: Informational Website Design Service
Here is the job details, I have a small clothing business for both male and female, now am trying to expand the business and i want you to build an informational website for it for advertisement. I need you to checkout this site but I need something more perfect than this if possible, http://######x.com (A legitimate website). The site would only be informational, So i need you to get back to me with an estimate for the web design, The estimate should include hosting and i want the site to have not more than 8 pages since it is informational. I have a private project graphic designer, He has the text content, images and the logos for the site.
Note: 1. I want only English language 2. I don't have a domain yet but i want the domain name as rwears.co 3.You will be updating the site for me. 4. I will be providing the images, logos and content for the site. 5. I want the site up and running before ending of next month. 6. My budget is $5,000 to $10,000 Kindly get back to me with ) an estimate also I will like to know if you are the owner and what is your name.
Hope to read from you,
Thanks.
Perez
Of course, I replied asking for more details, etc., and I quoted a price. The response I received was quite rapid (on a Sunday, no less!):
Donna,Thanks, I'm very much satisfied with the total estimate, quite affordable. Here's an exclusive just to show some seriousness and dedication. I am willing to pay up the sum of $2,500 as an upfront payment so that you can start making my website design. I have my credit card available for the payment. But first I want you to pay attention to this.I haven't paid the private graphic designer that has the text content and the logo for my website he does not have credit card facility. Regarding this fact, I will be giving you my credit card to charge for the sum of $6,200. Once the funds clears to your account $2,500 will be deducted as an upfront payment for the website design, $200 for yourself as tip and the remaining $3,500 will be sent to the private graphic designer that has the text content and the logo for my website. Be rest assured you will be charging everything on my credit card including credit card charges,Ok
Now, when you tell me that you want me to take a payment, a tip AND send the rest to someone else?
I replied saying I would be more than happy to set them up as a client, but I need some information first. I sent a credit application and am waiting for a response.
This is blatantly a scam, which I am not falling for. I did, however, want to put this out here for any of the Web Design/Development community whom haven’t heard of it yet.
Can’t wait to hear why they won’t return the application!!!
