Well…it’s nice to see an effort I designed the branding and marketing for about 20-25 years ago is FINALLY coming to life! According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the California Indian Heritage Center will soon break ground along the riverfront in West Sacramento at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers. It’s about time the State of CA officially recognizes this sacred land, and creates an amazing destination to educate its visitors and honor the Native American communities. Well done to all who have persevered during this long process! I hope to visit once it’s complete in a few years.

I love my vice-chair (and good friend!) on the Public Arts Committee, Deb Ripley! Today we spent the day reviewing all the spaces soon to be replaced by new art for the Art Exposed program for the city of Florence, discussing in detail the merits of each submission, and determining which pieces might be best for display before our final consideration meeting at City Hall tomorrow night. It’s tough to determine which pieces to choose, but the final outcome is so rewarding! Thanks, Alan Ercolini, (and Turley) for joining us and giving your input!

Working away on two signage campaigns for long-time clients from CA (a major museum in No. CA and top golf course in the Sacramento region). In addition, putting together a presentation for handling the social media marketing for a top real eatate brokerage here in Florence. I feel blessed to retain my CA clients while enjoying Oregon life! Thank you to ALL my clients…near and far!

Such a fun event tonight at the Florence Chamber of Commerce holiday party for the Board of Directors. A great team-building dinner at Bogeys & Birdies at Sandpines Golf Club, where friendships were made, accomplishments were celebrated, and future plans were announced…including one that involves me! I am proud and honored to announce that I have been hired by the Chamber as the new Director of Events & Creative Design, effective this week.

I’m happy to bring my decades of experience in branding, marketing, creative strategy, and event development to immediately strengthen the Chamber’s ability to deliver high-quality events, elevate their creative work, and support both Chamber members and tourism-focused initiatives. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have joined Lisa Brandow and CEO Bettina Anderson Hannigan as part of a dynamic and highly capable Chamber team we have coined “The Chamber Champs”.

And to all my existing clients…please don’t panic! This position still allows me to be available to handle all you branding and design needs just like in the past. In fact, for my local Oregon clients, consider this an opportunity to leverage my position to an even greater degree with the new connections I’ll be making!

I am excited to announce that the Public Arts Committee for the City of Florence has opened the call for artists online for the next installation of its Art Exposed program in the ReVision Florence area of Hwy 101 between Hwy 126 and the historic Siuslaw River bridge. Artwork submissions will be open through January 2026, and will be installed Spring of 2026. If you know of an interested artist, or are a practicing artist familiar with outdoor coastal installations in Oregon, we encourage you to submit your artwork for consideration! Happy to have created a new awareness-building campaign for public art for the City of Florence. Featuring the award-winning Art Exposed program, this monthly online campaign will highlight the entire collection, focusing on lesser-known facts about the art, and its benefits for our city. Stay tuned for future ads, appearing in the city’s online newsletter.

This first ad’s content features this spring's installation of "Steel Sprig" by Diego Harris, which generated over 37,000 impressions when the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce posted an image of the artwork on their social media, as well as "Speckled Redside Chromie" by Rick True, which replaced "Golden/Yellowstone" when the original art sold to the Port of Siuslaw for $11,000, resulting in over $3,000 going back to the city for reinvestment in the Public Art Program.

Stroll along Bay Street, or Highway 101 between the Siuslaw River Bridge and Highway 126 to enjoy the City of Florence's award-winning public art. And keep an eye out for new art coming soon!

Working on proposals for branding/signage and website for a new baseball academy based in Northern CA, as well as a new website and online marketing efforts for a regional arts alliance in the Pacific Northwest.
