I am loving Wyoming's kicking it old-school and handing out flyers!

As a designer, I highly recommend using tools at your disposal when you're under a tight deadline. This quick addition to Core Soccer Academy's summer camp lineup this week needed a fast turn around, so I leaned on Canva for a base layout, switched up and added a few elements, worked through basic hierarchy and content development, and had client approval on the first round.

Following up with a png for their social media, a print-ready file for their Head Coach, and in less than 24 hours, these flyers were already distributed in a current camp going on in another town.

These players are gonna have a blast!

If you're a local to Northern Colorado/Wyoming, check out Core Soccer Academy's camps at coresoccer.com, or follow their Insta . Top quality coaches, and rated #1 for over 2 decades!

Corporate branding is one of my very favorite projects to work on, and although the process to the finish line for a winning logo isn't linear, it sure is fun! After just 3 rounds, this is where we landed for T2G.

Happy client = happy designer ✨ And when they asked for a few business card designs, I was absolutely giddy. Print is not dead!

Both came together quickly and are being printed (with actual contact info 😂) as we speak, but I'm curious:

Which of these 4 business cards designs would have been your choice?

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my projects in the wild 🍕🚴

Fort Collins' Summer Bike to Work Day 2023 had a huge turnout again this year, and of course Panhandler's Pizza was there with their incredible breakfast pizza!

I got to work with owner, Louann on the branding for this addition to their menu by developing this breakfast-type character logo, reminiscent of Pan's iconic 'panhandler' branding. Four rounds later, this little guy was born, plus a whole lotta delicious breakfast pizza combinations!

And bonus this year seeing 2 of my besties .steve and enjoying a slice on their way to work. What a great way to start the day!

I may have been the last cyclist to hit Pan's pop-up on my way home from work, but I was so happy to reconnect with my friend doing what she does best: serving up FoCo's favorite pizza... and of course, I got another slice! 🍕🚴

It's hard to believe I laid out this article twenty years ago...

Today, as we celebrate the 8th Anniversary of the Supreme Court's monumental milestone to legalize , may we honor the groundwork laid in the name of progress, and continue to stand strong in the pursuit of equal rights for all.

It's a pretty great Friday when a former client brings you a brand new project...

I can hardly wait to get started, but this is bringing vibes, and nudging me to share my previous work for this truly wonderful client: Storm Men's Shop.

Traci Gendron's concept was much more than building a high-end men's apparel shop and a profitable business. Through her impeccable fashion sense, Storm Men's Shop not only raised the bar for boutique shopping in Old Town, Fort Collins, but also awareness for the rare disease Cystinosis - a disease her son, Tanner lived with. She and Tanner worked side-by-side throughout its planned 5-year run, donating 100% of the shop's profits to Cystinosis research for a cure.

✨100%!✨

Storm's business model would expand in 2018 to include a line of high-end apparel and accessories for women, prompting the name change to Storm Fine Apparel, and a rebrand all-around.

The ground-up development - branding identity and collateral, signage, apparel hang tags, postcards, website, and so much more - will always be a project close to my heart. I can't wait to share what we do next!

Pride. 20 years ago, today ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Long before social media, while Ellen was rebuilding her career after her controversial coming out episode, and HBO/Cinemax was among the few advertising giants to buy space between the covers, the platform for the LGBTQ+ family community was And Baby magazine, and I was somehow lucky enough to be its Creative Director.

Based out of a warehouse space on the East River in Red Hook, my team and I took on the media, one issue at a time. *Most notable on this platform: none of us had prior experience in magazine editorial, or publishing. Fueled with passion and purpose, we learned as we went along. We made no apologies; we offered no explanations, and yet, we answered all the questions.

Our mission was simple: to be visible. 🌈

We believed so deeply that our little publication could effect change, we made something happen that had never been done before. Reflecting back twenty years later, I couldn’t be more proud of this work and the progress we helped to make.

Today, I watch my community continue to push the needle forward and fight for the equality we knew was possible. I love each and every one of you for it 🌈

Happy Pride, friends. Keep going... 🏳️‍🌈💫💪

What better authority to wield the throat punch (that I needed today) than one of the most dynamic poets of the mid 20th Century. Preach, Sylvia!

With an uncanny ability to starkly express a sense of alienation, uncertainty, and self-destruction, Sylvia’s life was dominated by joyous highs, debilitating lows, and whichever one was running the show dominated the spotlight. Often dark and incredibly profound, Sylvia spoke about the hectic, uncontrolled things our conscience often needs… or thinks it needs.

While there’s no doubt that self-doubt is a part of the human experience, moving through it is crucial to get to anywhere close to where you want to be. For me, I try to beat back my enemy by uncovering the ‘Why.’ Why am I stuck? Why at this moment, when it’s critical that I produce? 👈🏻 Heck, maybe that’s even the ‘Why!’ Sometimes it hits, and sometimes it misses; it’s a work in progress…

What helps you? How do you quiet your inner critic on your creative journey?

Are you sensing a theme emerging this week? 📚… I busted out this classic last night… I can’t even explain how much joy it brought me that the pages have become yellowed on the edges.

For much of my professional career, I’ve specialized not only in print, but also niched within the health and wellness sector, so the chapter within Martin Lindstrom’s ‘Brand Sense’ on the future world of holistic branding emerging as a global phenomenon had me smiling from ear to ear.

Leveraging the concept of sensory branding, where each brand’s message is expressed through ritual and tradition has the power to reformulate the way we think. Touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound encompass a multitude of emotions on the sensory scale, and the most successful companies do this with startling and measureable results.

Just reading about ‘that new car smell, that Kellogg’s crunch’ inside these yellowed pages brought me back to a simpler time filled with the brilliance of old books and the printed word.

Maybe, if you’re like me this week, grab an old standard from your bookshelf and listen to the sound when you crack it open, turn the page, and notice the smell. I’m willing to bet it’ll bring you a smile, and back to a forgotten time that feels a little like home

*special thanks to for the beautiful floral arrangement. I did indeed find the perfect spot for it 🌸☺️

Monday morning design inspo! Frida 🔥

I've been watching this trend toward hand-drawn work, and wouldn't you know it, my daughter brings me a book this weekend that she picked up on her Spring Break. She thought I 'might enjoy it.' Well, sweet daughter, I'm obsessed 🧡

Included in 'The Diary of Frida Kahlo, An Intimate Portrait,' are hundreds of images of Frida’s hand-work, insanely gorgeous moments of exploration, scribblings, brush-stroked icons, and typography that is simply: her handwriting. No fancy tech, photoshop, or any detectable moments of perfectionism - Frida is playful and experimental on the page. When she brings image and type together - for me - it's ✨magical✨

What's most inspiring to me moving into Monday motivation... I feel like we're going to see this trend back to hand-work take hold in a big way this year. In the ever-present quest to uniquely position brand identity, hand-work feels to be on-top to make a comeback.

For this art major and design geek, somehow even my morning coffee tastes brighter ✨☕

Let’s take, ‘Things We All Know About Branding’ for a thousand today, Alex ...and bonus points if you get my reference 😉.

It's pretty apparent that branding is critical on social media. Your content needs to stand out for your business to gain a foothold, all while simultaneously remaining consistent with your brand. No big deal, right?

Well, generating and weaving that common thread throughout your look, feel, and voice takes practice. I like to lean on a quote I’ve been living by these days, “You don't have to be good to start ... you just have to start to be good!”

Consider these top five social media branding tips:

✨ Understand your brand
✨ Know your target audience
✨ Set goals
✨ Create unique, quality content
✨ Engage with your audience

Ready to get started? You can do this! 💪 And remember, don’t be afraid to make mistakes. It’s where the magic happens 💫
