The rising cost of fuel is hitting more than our wallets at the pump. ⛽

Feeding South Florida President and CEO Paco Vélez spoke with WPTV-NBC about how rising diesel prices are affecting the organization’s work to provide food and resources to food-insecure families across South Florida.

With more than 30 trucks delivering food from Jupiter to the Keys, keeping the fleet moving is essential to reaching communities in need. In July and August alone, Feeding South Florida spent approximately $121,000 on fuel, compared with $75,000 during the same period last year, a 59% year-over-year increase.

Despite rising operating costs, the organization continues working every day to ensure food gets on the tables of those who need it most.

New name. Major milestone. A $1 billion vision taking shape in Davie. 🏗️🌴

Florida YIMBY recently featured the newly renamed The Plaza Davie District, El-Ad National Properties’ 2.8 million-square-foot mixed-use development planned to bring five residential towers, approximately 1,292 rental residences and 36,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space to the heart of Davie.

The feature also highlights the recent topping out of the 22-story, 288-residence Phase One tower, along with the project’s hospitality-driven vision, extensive amenity collection and connection to the Town of Davie’s RISE District.

A new state. A new development. Another milestone for Basis Industrial. 🏗️📍

Basis Industrial is expanding its self-storage platform into Arizona with a new 707-unit, 102,673-square-foot climate-controlled facility planned for Surprise.

CRE Daily recently highlighted the project and its $20.5 million construction loan from NexBank and NexPoint, along with the completed land acquisition in the Truman Ranch master-planned community. The development marks Basis Industrial’s first project in Arizona following more than four years of planning and entitlement work.

With construction expected to begin later this year, the project adds another high-growth market to Basis Industrial’s expanding national footprint.

Fire up the grill. 🔥🥩

WPLG Local 10’s SoFlo Health host Hunter Franqui recently joined BOL Hospitality co-owner and founder Eric Douglas at BAE Korean Grill for the full interactive Korean BBQ experience.

Eric shared the story behind BAE, including how its name is a play on the Korean word for Asian pear, a fruit associated with prosperity, before Hunter got hands-on at the table. Together, they grilled 45-day dry-aged ribeye, built lettuce wraps and sampled favorites including Wagyu dumplings, tuna tataki, fried bok choy and kimchi fried rice.

Eric also gave viewers an inside look at what sets the BAE experience apart, from premium cuts prepared tableside to a service team trained to handle the grilling so guests can sit back, connect and enjoy the meal.
