Being "woke" simply means being aware of long-standing societal issues and taking measured steps to address them.

It's about waking up each day with purpose, doing what we can to make positive changes, and then resting to recharge for the next day's efforts.

But there's a difference between being "woke" and being an "insomniac" in our social consciousness:

🌅 Woke: Aware, active, and balanced
• Recognizes systemic issues
• Takes thoughtful, consistent action
• Understands change is a marathon, not a sprint
• Rests and recharges

🌙 Insomniac: Overzealous and burnt out
• Obsesses over problems
• Demands immediate, sweeping changes
• Struggles to find balance or perspective
• Risks exhaustion and ineffectiveness

When critics use "woke" as a pejorative, they're often actually describing "insomniacs" - those who push so hard they lose sight of the long game.

True "wokeness" is about sustainable awareness and action.

It's recognizing that while we must address societal issues, we also need to pace ourselves for the long journey ahead.

Let's reclaim "woke" for what it truly means: being awake to the challenges we face, doing our part each day, and then allowing ourselves to rest and dream of a better tomorrow.
