One of our own just put something great into the world.

Krissy Camacho who many of you know from being one of our amazing webinar moderators, has written "A Marketing Detective's Guide to AI-Powered Win/Loss Decoding", and it's out now.

It tackles a problem most GTM teams just live with: the reasons you win and lose deals are scattered across CRM notes, call recordings, and half-remembered buyer conversations, and nobody has the time to make sense of it. Krissy's book gives you a method. How to investigate it like a case, where AI genuinely speeds things up, and how to turn what you find into sharper ICP, messaging, and plays.

It's practical in the way the best playbooks are. Templates, checklists, case studies you can actually borrow from.

Congratulations, Krissy. This one's going to help a lot of people. 👏

Every messaging debate eventually hits the same wall: nobody actually knows why the last ten deals went the way they did.

So the room fills with opinions. Sales says price. Product says positioning. Someone blames the competitor's free trial. And the next campaign gets built on whoever argued hardest.

The answers were never missing. They're sitting in your CRM, your call recordings, and your buyer feedback. Most teams just never pull them out.

On June 10, CyberEdge Founder & CEO Steve Piper sits down with Krissy Camacho, author of A Marketing Detective's Guide to AI-Powered Win/Loss Decoding, to show you how to build a win/loss program that actually runs.

You'll leave with a 3-step framework you can use the same week, AI workflows that speed up analysis without outsourcing your judgment, and a plan to sharpen your ICP, messaging, and plays.

One live attendee wins a $100 Amazon gift card. Can't make it live? Register and we'll send the recording.

Thank you to Veracode for sponsoring the 2026 Cyberthreat Defense Report.

As one of this year’s Platinum sponsors, Veracode is helping make the 13th edition of the report available to the cybersecurity community.

The report includes global benchmark data from IT security professionals on the challenges shaping security strategy in 2026, including application security, secure coding, AI-enabled threats, breach exposure, and security investment priorities.

For teams focused on AppSec and software security, these findings offer useful context for understanding where organizations are struggling, where they are investing, and how security priorities are shifting.

Thank you again to Veracode for supporting this year’s Cyberthreat Defense Report.

ISC2 has built its reputation around helping cybersecurity professionals grow, validate their expertise, and navigate a changing security landscape.

That makes their sponsorship of the 2026 Cyberthreat Defense Report a natural fit.

This year’s report brings together global benchmark data from 1,200 IT security professionals across 17 countries and 19 industries, with findings on some of the issues security teams are actively facing:

Skills shortages
AI-skilled talent demand
Ransomware impact
Quantum preparedness
Security spending and strategy priorities

Thank you to ISC2 for sponsoring the 13th edition of the Cyberthreat Defense Report and helping bring these insights to the cybersecurity community.

For cybersecurity marketers, it is also a useful example of how credible research can support a stronger audience conversation. The best campaigns do more than promote a solution. They help buyers understand the environment they are operating in.

A lot of cybersecurity content gets consumed once and forgotten.

The best-performing assets tend to have a longer shelf life because they answer questions buyers are already asking.

One of the reasons this “Left of Boom” guide resonated is because it speaks to a shift happening across cybersecurity marketing right now:

Security conversations are moving upstream.

Less focus on reacting after compromise. More focus on reducing exposure before it becomes an incident.

That creates a different kind of content opportunity for vendors:

* Prevention narratives instead of fear narratives
* Operational guidance instead of broad trend commentary
* Research-backed framing instead of opinion alone
* Content practitioners can actually reference internally

This is the type of work we build with partners at CyberEdge alongside brands like Qualys.

Two days out from our CDR insights webinar.

Quick context on why this one is worth the calendar block for cybersecurity marketers:

The full report is built for benchmarking. Numbers, comparisons, year-over-year deltas. What it doesn't include is the "yeah, but why?" conversation. That's what the webinar is for.

CyberEdge has been running this study for 13 years. Our CEO & Founder, Steve Piper, has seen which findings reliably predict the next year's behavior and which are noise. The webinar is the version of the report that includes that signal-vs-noise filter, with implications for messaging, positioning, and 2026 campaign planning.

If your marketing team is using the CDR for ICP refreshes, competitive positioning, content calendar inputs, or board reporting, send them the registration link.

Wednesday May 6th @ 10am PT / 1pm ET. Free + one attendee will win a $100 Amazon gift card.

Want the inside read on this year's Cyberthreat Defense Report? We're walking through it live.

Wednesday May 6th @ 10am PT / 1pm ET

Our Founder & CEO, Steve Piper, is hosting a webinar covering the findings the report doesn't have room to fully unpack.

What cybersecurity marketers will get out of it:
• How to position in the AI security category now that proprietary LLMs rank hardest to secure (and where most vendor messaging is missing the mark)
• Which industries are driving the ransomware payment-rate jump, and what that means for vertical campaigns and ICP refinement
• Where the 5.6% budget growth is landing by category, and how to align content priorities to where the dollars are flowing
• Where AI workforce expectations diverge across 17 countries, and what it means for region-specific demand gen

Steve will be running through the slides and taking questions. If you've already downloaded the report, this is the version with the commentary track.

Free to attend (one attendee will win a $100 Amazon gift card). 45 minutes plus Q&A.

Quick follow-up on yesterday's report release. One stat worth a closer look:

90.4% of organizations grew their security budget in 2026, average increase of 5.6%. Highest budget-growth figure we've recorded in 13 years of running this study.

Read alongside the workforce findings, it tells a coherent story. Boards are loosening the purse strings (52.9% of organizations now have a board member chairing or sitting on a cyber risk committee, up from 43.1% three years ago) while operators are bracing for AI-driven team consolidation. The money is going somewhere. It's just not necessarily going to people.

Useful for marketers planning Q3 and Q4 campaigns: the technology deployment tables in Section 3 show where the budget is actually landing by category. Helpful for sharpening competitive positioning, refreshing ICP, and aligning content priorities to where buyer dollars are flowing.

The 2026 Cyberthreat Defense Report is out today.

Four findings worth flagging if you market into the security buyer, based on a research survey of 1,200 IT security pros, from 17 countries, and 19 industries.

* For ICP, persona, and demand gen work: 80% of security pros expect AI to significantly reduce headcount on their team. 46% expect it within two years. The buyer's org chart is in motion right now.

* For anyone building messaging in the AI security category: Proprietary LLMs scored lowest of 14 IT components for security posture (3.94 of 5). Top challenges practitioners cited: confidential data leakage in prompts (3.71) and prompt injection or LLM poisoning (3.70).

* For ransomware narrative work: Payment rate jumped from 40.7% to 55.0% in one year. Recovery rate climbed too (54.3% to 60.8%). The "pay and pray" framing no longer matches the data.

* For competitive positioning and budget conversations: 90.4% of organizations grew their security budget in 2026, average +5.6%. Highest figure in 13 years of running this study.
