Save our services
“Across social media and other public spaces, we’re seeing strong indications that Floridians have cracked the code on Amendment 3. It’s packaged prettily, as a massive property-tax cut for people who own their homes. But many Floridians have figured out that this amendment will kneecap local governments — shifting fiscal control to legislators and bureaucrats in Tallahassee and forcing counties and cities to beg for funding to sustain libraries, recreational programs, health services and programs that benefit children, seniors and homeless people. In some communities, even funding for essential services like public safety and roads will be strained.
"As with all constitutional amendments, Amendment 3 requires a 60% yes vote to pass. It deserves to be defeated by at least that much. If you do nothing else, vote no on this."
