On 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, our goal is to raise $5,000 to give the gift of a joyful Christmas celebration to 200+ children who live at our partner orphan care homes. Your contributions can make that happen. The Christmas feast is one of the few times that the children enjoy special meals. They will also receive a small gift because you gave.

As we countdown to November 30, we invite you to visit with us each day to learn about the worldwide orphan crisis. We will share stories that depict what abused, abandoned, and orphaned children often face before they are rescued and taken to an orphanage.

𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬--𝐓𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨.

Tumaini lived just outside the city of Nairobi with his parents and younger sister. The family’s dwelling was a twelve-by-twelve shack with mud walls, a corrugated tin roof, and dirt floor. When he was seven years old, his parents died of AIDS.

He and his five-year-old sister lived in the shack for nearly a week before neighbors in the settlement realized that the deaths had occurred. The children were brought to a nearby church and ultimately moved to a local orphanage. The orphan care home was their salvation.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞: Annelise, age twelve, has golden-brown curls that form a wild, tousled halo around her head. Her eyes are a soft green, and she’s skilled at pushing out her bottom lip to create the most heartbreaking pout. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧: To survive and care for her younger sister, she earns money as a pr******te.

Fortunately, Annelise and her sister were found and turned over to social services and eventually placed in a local orphan care home.
