"Culture doesn't drift into excellence - it is built on purpose." - Tabitha Ervin

This was one of many takeaways Cora and Mary Jane had from today's Greater Fort Wayne Inc. Women's Network Lunch! The keynote speaker Tabitha Ervin gave us much to think about and action steps to take and we are grateful for her leadership in our community.

Shout out to the Women's Network for always putting together fun, meaningful, connection events!

Happy Indiana Intern Day! Our second intern spotlight is Ella Faupel! Here is a little about her!

Q. What is your field of study and what degree are you pursuing?
A. I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication Design at Indiana University Indianapolis!

Q. What is a skill you have that most people do not know about?
A. I've been writing music for seven years and play five instruments (and counting- let me know if you have a mandolin that I can borrow).

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A. An art director or creative director.

Q. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
A. My creativity and ability to take on a lot of skills and hobbies.

Q. If you didn’t have any responsibilities, how would you spend your days?
A. Seeing and making art, spending time with my favorite people, and making so many Pinterest boards.

Q. What is a good book, show, or podcast you are into right now?
A. My favorite podcasts are Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain and Modern Love from the New York Times.

Q. What do you hope to take away from this internship experience?

Today, for Indiana Intern Day, we are spotlighting our summer interns with a Q&A! Starting with Elijah Persinger.

Q. What is your field of study, and what degree are you pursuing?
A. I am double-majoring in Business Management and Public Relations, with minors in political science and marketing at Huntington University, and I hope to attend law school after I graduate with my B.S. and B.A.

Q. What is a skill you have that most people do not know about?
A. I am a good cook. I have been cooking since middle school and have gotten pretty decent at making different kinds of food from all over the world.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A. I have wanted to be a politician since I was 10.

Q. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
A. I am proud of my perseverance. I don't give up even when things are hard, and I try to learn from my mistakes to improve myself.

Q. If you didn’t have any responsibilities, how would you spend your days?
A. I love hanging out with friends and camping, so I would go camping with friends more often.

Q. What is a good book, show, or podcast you are into right now?
A. I just finished reading the book Les Misérables by Victor Hugo, and it might be my new favorite novel. It is a great story, highly moral, philosophical, historical, and theological, and I highly recommend it. I am also a big fan of The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis.

Q. What do you hope to take away from this internship experience?
A. I really hope to take away useful skills, but more than that, I hope to maintain the connections and friendships I made through the experience.

We have loved having you with us for a second summer, and we know you will continue to do great things!

Thank you to the Gavers Community Cancer Foundation, Steve, Denise, Andy, Jake, and team for having us at the Barndance this weekend!

We had a blast capturing the heart behind all you do— spreading cancer awareness, funding research, and making sure every person who goes through cancer feels less alone.

Events like this remind us again why we love what we do and the people behind every brand and organization.

We had a wonderful morning in Kendallville at the Be Noble Inc. Annual Meeting. Melanie Kellogg and the team did a wonderful job. The panel discussion about utility infrastructure and how it contributes to economic growth and community flourishing was informative! Keep up the good work in Northeast Indiana.
