This weekend brought a lot of different emotions.
Hannah and Robin treated me to a wonderful Father’s Day filled with love and laughter, and we had a great time watching some TinCaps baseball at Parkview Field.
It was also my first Father’s Day since my dad passed. We lost him earlier this year.
He’s probably the biggest reason why I love baseball, why I pursued sports reporting as a career. He wasn’t the best communicator, but he always made sure to encourage me and keep up with my TV journey.
Without him I would have never come to Fort Wayne. I wouldn’t have met Hannah, and we wouldn’t have Robin now.
These last few months have not been easy, but I am grateful that he got to see all of his kids get married, and meet a few grandkids.
Father’s Day will always carry a bit of sadness for me going forward, but I suppose there’s some beauty in that.
Love you, Dad.
