Rep. Brandon Gill did not hold back when sharing his thoughts on the Lindsay Clancy trial.

"Justice demands that she would receive the [maximum penalty]."

"We've gotten into a habit of medicalizing EVIL!"

"You don't get a license to m*rder your children or anybody else just because you have mental health problems."

"I have an enormous amount of sympathy for those three little innocent kids.. I don't have an OUNCE of sympathy for Lindsay Clancy."

"What happened here is a woman, maybe she had some problems.."

"But at the very least, whether she was hearing voices or not, it doesn't really matter. She ought to be locked up and off of our streets for the rest of her life."

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 Texas Democrat US Senate candidate James Talarico endorses plan for Texans to pay slavery reparations.

Question: “Do you support reparations?”

Talarico: “Restoration, repairing past harms, is part of my faith tradition.”

"Restoration, repairing past harms is part of my faith tradition... We have to correct the injustices of our past... We are seeing the reverberations of slavery in modern day Texas, all over the place. And until we as a society are committed to righting those past wrongs, of restoring our black communities, we're never going to be able to get this country back on track."

The Texas State Board of Education voted 9-5 earlier today, Friday, June 26, to mandate Bible passages as required reading in all public schools.

This first-of-its-kind state requirement impacts 5.5 million students starting in the 2030-31 school year.

The policy will be phased in beginning with the elementary grade levels in a few years.

Supporters say the Bible is being included for its historical, literary, and cultural significance, arguing that it has had a major influence on American history and Western literature.

This vote follows several other recent Texas education policies involving religion, including the expansion of Bible-related classroom materials, allowing school chaplains, and a law requiring the display of the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms.

Supporters see these measures as restoring recognition of the nation's Judeo-Christian heritage, while opponents view them as an unprecedented expansion of religion in public education.

Over the weekend, Frisco residents elected Islamic and Hindu endorsed candidate, Mark Hill, as the next mayor of the North Texas suburb during the June 13 runoff election.

With all precincts reporting in Collin and Denton counties, Hill garnered a majority of the votes against Republican Rod Vilhauer who was endorsed by Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX).

Hill campaigned on a message of unity and community engagement, focusing on bringing together Frisco's diverse and rapidly growing population.

Following his victory, Hill thanked residents across the city for their support and emphasized the importance of connecting with voters from all backgrounds.

All results are unofficial until canvassed. Frisco will canvass the election results at the summer work session June 23.

Karmelo Anthony has been found guilty in the murder of Austin Metcalf.

Anthony admitted to stabbing Metcalf at a track meet in Frisco last year but claimed he acted in self-defense.

The verdict follows days of emotional testimony from student athletes, police officers, forensic experts, and coaches who described the confrontation that ended with Metcalf's death on April 2, 2025.

More than 100 protesters — split between supporters of Metcalf and Anthony — packed the area outside the courthouse ahead of the verdict. Tensions flared and the two sides clashed before the jury's decision was read.

Governor Greg Abbott this week sent a letter to all Texas public institutions of higher education, halting increases in undergraduate tuition and fees for the upcoming academic year.

"I directed all public institutions of higher education in Texas to freeze undergraduate tuition and fees. Higher education must be attainable for Texas students and families," said Governor Abbott. "Access to affordable, high-quality education is essential to ensure Texans learn the skills needed to secure family-sustaining jobs and meet the demands of a growing workforce."

Tuition and fees will remain frozen through the 2026-27 academic year for all two-year and four-year institutions, including both general academic and health-related institutions.

Since 2023, Governor Abbott has directed tuition and fees in Texas to be frozen at all public intuitions of higher education. Just this past session, the State of Texas made historic investments in higher education and increased student financial aid funding by $328 million to improve access to state financial aid programs for eligible students across Texas.

Early this morning, Governor Greg Abbott directed the Texas Higher Education Board to issue a ceast & desist to newly founded Texas American Muslim University at Dallas (TexAM).

Governor Abbott released the following statement:

"I directed the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to issue a Cease & Desist to "TexAM," an unauthorized Islamic educational institution operating illegally in Texas.

If they refuse to comply, legal action will follow.

Texas will not allow illegal educational institutions to operate in our state."

According to TexAM's website, "TexAM University is the first university in the United States to offer STEM degree programs embedded with mandatory courses in Islamic Studies. The university provides specialized programs that integrate modern technology with Islamic principles, empowering students with skills in digital innovation while upholding Islamic values. Our graduates are prepared to excel in diverse fields such as Islamic finance, digital services, and religious education in today’s technology-driven world."

Their academic calender has classes starting as early as this summer.

Governor Greg Abbott has issued a letter to the city of Grand Prairie threatening to pull their public safety grants if they don’t cancel their planned “Muslim-only” water park day that was set for June 1st, 2026.

Governor Abbott released the following statement on X:

"A city-owned water park in Grand Prairie openly advertised a "MUSLIMS ONLY" event -- closed to the general public.

That's religious discrimination. It's unconstitutional. I signed HB 4211 into law -- banning Muslim only no-go zones in Texas.

The City must cancel the event and commit to never allowing something like it again by May 11th, or lose $530,000 in state grants.

Let this be a lesson to local officials: Facilities funded by ALL taxpayers are not just for a subset of Texans."

If Grande Praire doesn’t comply by May 11th, they will be required to repay $530,000 that they received from the state.

Representative Brandon Gill (R-TX) is one of the fastest rising members in Congress.

His current mission? To bring a stop to the mass migration that has overwhelmed Texas, and many regions of America.

Culture and assimilation seem to be the bedrock of his philosophy, and he doesn't believe outsiders from regions like Somalia and India bring any benefit to American society.
