Hey Cactus Patch gals,
Does denim feel like your worst enemy? Like those boot cut jeans in your closet won’t button comfortably if you eat that extra biscuit at breakfast, or PMS makes you bloat like a heifer that grazed the alfalfa field for a bit too long?
Do you worry about finding just the right bra? One that won’t jostle the girls while you’re working the chute, or holds fast when you’re roping calves in the branding pen?
Do you hold off eating dessert, or feel obligated to work out? Like even after a long day of miles spent in the saddle moving cattle with a missed meal or two?
Why is that?
Because society says a cowgirl, rancher, farmer, or other agricultural woman should be thin?
To heck with society!
You don’t need a thigh gap ride a horse, or to fit a calf between your feet in the floor board of a truck after you rescued it from a mama cow with toxicosis.
You don’t need a flat stomach to tag, vaccinate, brand, or castrate a calf.
You don’t need slim arms to drive a tractor, move irrigation lines, or weld a fence.
You don’t need a thin neck to look good in turquoise jewelry.
All you need is a can-do attitude and a love for what you do.
Eat the cake, ride the horse, and wear a cute shirt from Cactus Patch Kid while you do it.
xo, Jessica
