It is with great pain that I have to say this, but I am shutting my company down. I have been struggling to juggle this and what is going on for months, but I am unable to focus on trying to continue Micro Titan Marketing and heal from the traumatic experiences that have happened over the last few months.
Last year I put Micro Titan Marketing on a semi-hold while trying to build a trucking company and start a Domino's franchise while working for the company from the ground up as a delivery driver. But on October 5th, everything started going downhill fast and not in a good way. While making a delivery for the trucking company I co-own with my brother, Donald Brothers Logistics LLC, I was caught in a storm and the truck hydroplaned off the road, despite every effort taken to regain control, and slammed into the barrier dividing both directions on I-20 near Ranger, TX. This accident totaled the truck and trailer and all but put the company out of business.
I ended up with an injured shoulder and unable to work for a month. My brother, meanwhile, was keeping the company afloat by doing shuttle runs in his car and also transporting people all over Texas for other company owners that he knows.
On November 1st, he was here in DFW dropping off a customer for a medical treatment and his car started acting up. He was able to fix it, for the most part, but asked me to take the customer back home on November 3rd after her other treatment. I woke up that morning for the first time with no pain since the October 5th accident. While on the way to pick her up, though, I had just come to a stop in traffic on Loop 12 in Dallas atop the Trinity River Bridge when I was rear-ended by a guy working for a landscaping company. He was driving around 60 mph in a truck and was hauling a landscaping trailer and had admitted to having a brake issue when he got out of his truck to check on me, after he saw that I wasn't getting out of the car.
When he hit me, he knocked me into the car in front of me which knocked that driver into the car in front of him. He struck me with such force that the straps that were holding down his equipment snapped and propelled his equipment into the front of the trailer and knocked him back into me at least 2 more times.
I immediately found my phone and called my brother to have him get an Uber for the customer, then called 911 about the accident, then my wife to let her know what happened. By this time, I was starting to hurt more and more and getting dizzy. All the other drivers were outside my window trying to see how I was.
I got out and fell against my car, looked around and started yelling at the driver that hit me. He told me that he knew he had a brake issue before he left the shop and that set the other drivers off causing one to just say, "I don't see any damage on my car, so I'm going to leave."
Fast-forward a little bit and we find out that not only was I injured, but I have a few broken vertebrae and herniated discs. One of which is crawling up my spinal cord from between C3 and 4 and touching the disc between C2 and 3. I have lost my position at Domino's, so there goes that franchise. We have all but lost the trucking company because we didn't get enough to cover bills and replace the equipment, and now I have a broken back and neck, herniated discs, and a traumatic brain injury so I can't even focus to run my marketing agency. To top all of that off, there isn't enough money from the insurance company for me to get the surgery that I need to replace the most severely herniated disc. There's only enough to cover the medical bills so far with nothing left over for me and my family. My lawyer isn't even taking any money. So I am having to go to the county hospital for help, which can take months. The only income I have had since October, was by donating plasma, but now I have been put on a deferral list until 6 months after my surgery because of the spinal damage. Apparently, I wasn't supposed to be donating this entire time. So, as a last ditch effort to help my family, I have started a GoFundMe. https://gofund.me/dbf010ca
I've always been the person that has always helped others and never asked for anything in return. Even when stopping to help someone change a tire, if they would insist on handing me money for helping, I would find an excuse to go back and talk to them while they were sitting in their car and would quietly drop the money back through their window behind them. I have always believed that I was put on this earth to help as many people and animals as possible.
But now, as much as it pains me to do so, I am asking for help. If you are someone that I have made a positive impact in your life, consider donating. If you aren't in a position to do so, leave a comment, share, or even just like the post so that Facebook can get it out to more people so that maybe somebody else that can afford to do it can donate. I wouldn't be asking if I didn't have to. It has taken me weeks of off and on working just to get this post together. Not out of pride or anything else, but just because I will start typing and then forget what I was doing and close the window.
