The Fort Worth Police Department has released additional details regarding a fatal st*bbing incident that occurred on May 30, 2026. At approximately 10:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of an injured male lying on the sidewalk in the 2400 block of Lillian Street. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent stab wound, and Fort Worth Fire personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. During the investigation, another officer, approximately 2.5 miles away, was approached by Edward Trevino, who claimed to have st*bbed someone during an altercation. Trevino was detained and later interviewed by detectives. The investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from an earlier encounter between Trevino and the victim, involving a confrontation over the victim's vehicle, during which Trevino allegedly st*bbed the victim before fleeing on foot. Detectives determined that the use of d*adly force was not justified and that Trevino attempted to take the victim's vehicle while armed with a knife. The victim, identified as 54-year-old Andres Valdez, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Trevino is currently being held at the Tarrant County jail, charged with m*rder and tampering with evidence.
