Before the emails, the calls, and the pace of the day, there’s this.
Fresh air, open space, and a breakfast line that never runs late.

The quiet mornings might be my favorite part.

Great day at the Cattle Raisers Convention, followed by an incredible meal and even better company. Always grateful for time spent with friends who care deeply about preserving the western way of life. WINCH Ranch Cattle Co.

Some mornings remind you how growth really works.

It starts small.
It needs protection.
And it requires patience.

Whether you’re raising calves, building organizations, or growing communities the principles are the same.

The right environment changes everything.

Sometimes progress doesn't come with pushing harder.
It comes from changing altitude.

Strategy is about gathering enough perspective to see what's really happening, not just what feels urgent in the moment.

That's when momentum becomes intentional.

Conservation only works when people show up.

Last night more than 1,500 people gathered at the SMU Armstrong Field House for the Park Cities Quail Coalition Dinner & Auction. A powerful reminder of how deeply people care about land stewardship and wildlife conservation.

Honoring Robert Earl Keen with the T. Boone Pickens Lifetime Sportsman Award made the evening even more meaningful.

And a shout out to Mike Micallef and the team at Reata for another delicious meal.

Fort Worth taught me something.

Power doesn’t have to be loud.
It has to be rooted.

Clarity over chaos.
Stewardship over shortcuts.
Relationships over transactions.

Whether I’m advising a nonprofit, a lifestyle brand, or a growth focused organization, the foundation is the same:

• Know who you are.
• Protect what matters.
• Build with intention.

Strategy isn’t performance.
It’s precision.
It’s alignment.
And alignment creates momentum.

100 years on 7th Street.

Last night more than 400 members and guests gathered at the Fort Worth Club to celebrate this incredible milestone and reflect on the history, traditions, and vision of the leaders who founded it.

It is an honor to serve on the Membership Committee alongside such outstanding individuals as we help steward the next generation of members.

Here’s to 100 years of history abd to the members who will carry the Club forward toward its 150th anniversary.

When everything feels urgent, it’s usually a signal, not a season.

Urgency often hides misalignment.
And misalignment is expensive.

The fix isn’t more effort.
It’s better perspective.

If this feel familiar, let's talk.

Time is an immeasurable gift and the one we never get back.
It’s also the one that matters most when it’s no longer an option.

We live in a world that often makes you feel guilty for slowing down.

Don’t fall into that trap and rush past what truly matters. There is no substitute for time spent together.

There are a lot of people who make assumptions about livestock owners simply because they don’t know.

They don’t know…
• That when a calf needs a little extra care, you pick it up and carry it to the barn with an apprehensive 1,000-pound mama breathing down your neck the whole way.
• That you set up heat lamps, bring in extra hay, and get them out of the elements so that calf has a better chance.
• That care doesn’t end when the sun sets.
• That I walked back out here three times in the middle of the night, not checking from a phone app or a camera, but in boots, to the barn, to lay eyes on them.

They don’t see the worry.
They don’t see the responsibility.
They don’t see nights broken into hours instead of sleep.

Assumptions are made by people who’ve never walked to the barn in the dark. Devotion is what keeps us showing up every single time.
And that is exactly why agricultural education matters. Every walk of life is touched by agricultural, whether they realize it or not.
