Sometimes going UP in mesh count can actually help the ink clear the screen. Our friends at Remesh FSP shared a great example 👇🏼

A customer was struggling to clear a gray barrier blocker through a standard 158 mesh. Instead of dropping mesh count and laying down more ink, FSP recommended SAATI HiDro 198 thin-thread mesh.

The difference? The openings are only 5 microns apart, but open area jumps from 32% to 44%. The result was better ink clearance while maintaining the coverage and softer print they were looking for.

Mesh count is only part of the equation. Thread diameter and open area matter too.

Screen prep might not be the most exciting part of screen making, but it can make or break everything that comes next.

Proper mesh prep and degreasing creates a clean, uniform surface for your stencil, helping improve adhesion and reduce issues like fisheyes and pinholes before they have a chance to show up.

And the process matters just as much as the product. From choosing the right degreaser to the final flood rinse, proper technique helps create a more consistent starting point for every screen.

Our Gardena Demo Lab is officially open and available for demonstrations, giving screen printers the opportunity to see SAATI screen-making equipment in action, ask questions, test workflows, and get a closer look at how automation could fit into their own screen room.
