The Village of Fox Lake was recently awarded a Transit-Oriented Development grant from the Regional Transit Authority to redraft a new downtown zoning ordinance.

As part of recommended actions from the 2025 Downtown Strategic Plan, the new ordinance will focus on increasing transit access, walkability and bike-ability for residents near the downtown Metra Station. The plan will also encourage thoughtful development and improvements for business and housing growth in the area.
